I think she's into you, OP, or at least undecided. I'm going with the freak out theory. Try again and see. :)

Sometimes people just won’t give you a straight answer, and they’ll get mad at you if you insist.

I know this but I don't usually associate myself with these people.

So it's a girl you're not even friends with and you were expecting a yes or no on the spot?

Yep, it made more sense in my sex addled head though.

Did you even have a conversation with her before you asked her? You can't just walk up to female strangers and flatly ask them out y'know.

Maybe she mistyped "you" at the end?

Well she isn't a complete stranger, she knows who I am we share several classes and there was this time I also called her a certain five letter word in seventh grade, not to mention we used to both be on the school track team, I've had to work with her in several group projects this year, and she knows my brother.

Give it a try once again.
With something like "so about the movie...".

No, don't move on now.

It's not all about getting a "yes" or "no" answer straight away - that ultimatum can scare people off. I would back off for a week or so, remaining friendly but slightly distant, and then for a few days be subtley playful towards her, with no expectations, and still being slightly distant inbetween. After those few days, if she's definitely friendly back, or seems curious, then keep being friendly and then pulling back slightly. Then suggest meeting up again.

I think you did the right thing by saying, "sometime" because that's less intimidating for her to answer than asking for a specific date.

So I shouldn't ask her Tuesday?

Well, few days have already passed...

But don't wait too long too.
