why does society call men who want a woman entitled?

Nope, I'm really broke and struggling financially. While I would really like to have the money that some people have at this time of their lives, and the peace of mind that goes with it, I know I'm not entitled to it.
Those who think they are entitled to romance and a relationship but don't have one are usually people who don't put forth much effort towards getting one or who refuse to believe they should change anything about themselves to get one, even after being shot down time after time.
I did that after taking 20 some odd years of him doing it to me and his passive aggressive BS and for about a year or so his actually aggressive BS. It started when we were on the verge of divorce. So it was one guy, one partner. Yes, it was ongoing, but DH knows and doesn't really seem to give two s**ts as long as he gets his meals ready for him and his house cleaned and his clothes washed.
The reason he came back (not that he left, but I'm using this figuratively) is because other than this one incident, I'm a f*****g awesome wife. I'm honestly the wife that a lot of guys wish they had. He gets scratch cooked meals, brought to him in his chair while he's watching tv, he gets a homemade lunch to take to work with him, he gets a cold beer and the tv remote handed to him when he comes in from work, I leave him alone to watch his football games, I take care of the bills, I deal with the BS in life for him, and even though I'm not pretty I'm always put together real nice so I look damn good while I do it too. I'm also more in bed than he can handle. That's why.
I'm only successful with guys because I worked hard to get that way. I had to learn how to talk to them, learn to take better care of myself, learn what to do and not to do, etc. It didn't come naturally and if I had insisted that I didn't have to change and a guy would have to take me like I was way back then, I'd still be living with my mother. Probably with a lot of cats.
what kind of effort should i put forth? i only see girls at restaurants or supermarkets.
The first thing I'd suggest is to go someplace other than a restaurant or supermarket. Also, if you have tried to get girls before and been shot down, figure out what you're doing wrong and work on changing it.

From my perspective it seems there is isn't proof for the idea that men feel more entitled than women do. There seems to be no impartial research done by sociologists, like the writer of the male entitlement concept is Michael Kimmel who is apparently a pro feminist. The problem I see is there can only be complete opposition to that from those who want to campaign mens rights. So it seems like there is nobody who doesn't have a political side that has an educated expert view on this.

You? Horrible? Just because you won't date a guy?
What kind of sorry excuse for a human being would believe that?

The "friend zone" idea says this. Basically if a guy is friends with you and falls in love with you but you aren't attracted to him in that way and/or don't reciprocate the feelings for whatever reason, you're a shallow evil person for having preferences and not being a gumball machine that opens its legs when someone drops in enough "nice" coins.

No, that's not the "Friendzone" model. That's the "Misandrist Female" model (we all know how you feel about men).
The "Friendzone" model only goes so far as to describe an unequal degree of interest between two people - one person wants a romantic relationship, while the other is satisfied with a "just friends" relationship. Thus, the first person is "Friendzoned" by the second. The person being "Friendzoned" can be male or female, as can the other person, as well.
If the first person feels the way that you've described, then that person is a self-centered individual who always sees him- or her-self as a victim in relationships and feels that he or she must lash out in anger.
I'm sorry if you took my discription as prejudiced but that's the way I've always seen things described as "friend zone" work. Re: my misandry, I want everyone to realize that half the time when I post the angry stuff I do it's because I've been set off and upset by something. That is NOT how I usually feel especially toward my boyfriend, who I know loves and respects me.

My husband? Yeah. I thought about leaving a few times and even planned to, but I got too much time invested to just give up. I'm gonna keep on trying till I just can't anymore.
I'm not with my first husband. I married him when I was 18 and divorced him when I was 20. I married my husband now when I was 22. I'm 49.

Fnord, would your last sentence be describing a person who feels entitled?

What "society" actually "says" is that some men tend to think that they are entitled to romance and/or sex simply because they're men.
It's like people from the lower economic classes who tend to think that they are entitled to someone else's wealth just for being alive, or those people who tend to think that they are entitled to respect, trust, and/or admiration for the same reasons.
This is called "An over-reaching sense of entitlement", not "Being entitled" - the first springs from the pride, jealousy, and frustration of the "have-nots", while the latter arises from the circumstance of actually having earned something.
And you hit the nail on the head, same with your other posts in this thread.
With a few exceptions neither wealth or love will just fall into your lap, you have to work hard to get them and yes, depending on how gifted you are in the area you might have to work a lot harder. It's as simple as that.

It's a self-justifying issue.
There's a couple of simple facts: (1) Women are mainly attracted by alfa males, the ones that look stronger, that seem natural leaders and future or current providers. Other elements, as the classical 'niceness' are considered unattractive since they decrease the male skill of being as a provider. Violent and manipulative males are more likely to be successful against other males and so to be good providers, so they're perceived as 'hotter' (2) Women in general like to attract male attantion in a sexual way... but only from those males that are considered attractives, they really hate to attract sexual attention from males that are not considered attractives.
Neither of those two things is a crime, of course. And it's just biology, nothing to be ashamed of. We're animals and sexuality is basically base in animal instincts, after all. So, why so many problems?
If modern women, modern feminism or whatever accept this, then it involves consequences. Suddenly it could happen than women are not with violent males because male patriarchy fooled them, but because they simply find them attractive. Suddenly it could happen that undesired attracted sexual attention is not that men have to blamed of, since women do try to attract sexual attention. Suddenly it could happen that women that are with men that like to play manipulative games, are with them because they find them more attractive. If you accept biology, suddenly a lot of feminism is BS.
Imagine you have company that has a wonderful theory about organization, and work, and human resources, but after that, you hire the guy with the better suit. Of course, since you're a private company, you can hire who you want, but that doesn't change that all your theory about organization and human resources, it's just BS. And that's a bitter pill to swallow.
And when you don't want to face something, when you need to deny that all you theory is BS, what do you do? You blame somebody else. You see the skilled guy that you didn't hire, saying 'hey, I was more skilled' and then you blame him 'you think that you're entitled!! !'. Nope, he's saying that he's more skilled, that's all. But you don't want to hear, so you react with violence.
Most of women today are in a permanent denial. Most of relationship end in conflicts.
You're young and still have time. Do you want a piece of advice? Don't waste your time with a woman that is in permanent denial. Don't waste your time with women that can be conflictive and feel no remorse because they have been in denial their whole life. Specially if you want to have kids, because you can end up ruined (if you don't believe read the comments in this reddit page and get scared http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1 ... nd_author/ ). Don't waste time looking for the best in women. If you think she's conflictive, go away. If you only suspect she's conflictive, go away. Because probably she is. It's very difficult to find a woman nowadays with whom you can have a sane relationship. Be very selective. Forget about physical beauty, or successful career. Get a sane one. Sane. Just sane. And believe me that this is a f*****g difficult to find nowadays.

Yes, and such people "never" seem to accept the responsibility for not having whatever it is that they feel entitled to - it's "always" someone or everyone else's fault - and they seem to somehow feel justified in expressing anger and contempt without remorse toward any convenient target.
I've been a silent observer of human behavior long enough to have a fairly objective grasp of what goes on.
It took a while to learn, but it seems that whenever wealth or love had fallen into my lap, there were some unspoken conditions attached.

No, it's just the truth.
Love, romance, and/or sex are not entitlements. They are gifts, given of the other person's own free will, or they are commodities, to be sold to the highest bidder.
Of course, when biochemistry enters the picture (oxytocin, and other hormones), it gets a little more complicated.
But if you put forth no effort to make yourself attractive in any way (including earning the money to pay for it), love, romance, and sex are mere fantasies. Thus, these things are the reward of those who work for them.
What you're saying makes sense of course. I just wonder why 90% of NTs act like it's the weirdest thing ever if somebody is chronically a virgin/single since that attitude completely contradicts nobody being entitled to it.
Most NTs act totally shocked if someones still a virgin around 25-30 or older like they think you're automatically supposed to get laid by then.

Because NT's generally have the social skills to make it happen. Therefore, they take it for granted that it's easier for them to get into relationships.
