But I never did ask anyone to take a pic of me playing sport. Usually I hide from cameras if they point my way. The part that I think about is "what impression might I be giving by posting this pic/saying this about me/answering this question?"

No, that was not a private message, it was a thread you started about your success with shirtless pics and such.

I was talking in general, not about you in particular.

I might be too cynical; but the type of people who often do that (taking a pic of every minor activity they do) tend to care more about the pics they'll put on social media stuff (and possibly dating sites but they wouldn't reveal that) than living and enjoying the experience.

Yeah I agree with that. Similar thing with one's own photography - sometimes I catch myself worrying too much about getting a good shot of something and forget to enjoy the experience. And sometimes I see people's massive folders of holiday pics and think "did you actually enjoy the trip or did you just take pics of it all?!".

Lucky I have a photo on OkC of me with my SLR, so I can warn people that I take photographs of things. Wouldn't want that to be the dealbreaker down the track :P

Depends on how they are shirtless. If they are swimming or some activity where shirts are not worn that's ok.Nothing wrong with male eye candy. But the headless torso shots with the fly unzipped are kind of tacky.

I bet you are!

I don't mind, sure I would look, because it would be out of ordinary... till the novelty wears off. Sure I like women that have something there, but I like bootylicious more :P

I read a statistical analysis by the OKC staff about shirtless pictures. They determined that while everyone claimed shirtless pics weren't desirable, men who had shirtless pictures (and the muscles to go with it, obviously) had a far higher rate of response.

imaginary cat + more skin/abs + doing something = more approaches from women.
