Love isn't about needing something the same way you need food or water, it's about human connection. Trying to explain human connection to people who don't want or experience it is like trying to explain to someone who doesn't see in color why you "waste" money on specific items for aesthetic purposes when they can't see the yellow, or the pink stripes, etc, themselves. I can't understand why someone would want to exist at all if they only remain inside their own tiny bubble doing nothing but things that die with them.

very good analogy. a person's eyes have to be opened anew to see/entertain/comprehend love.

I think it's possible to comprehend it in a basic sense no matter what. There's just no grand secret or hidden nugget of logic that will make it all make sense to someone who doesn't experience the same emotional responses or have the same drive to connect.

A sociopath isn't someone who doesn't experience love for others.

I don't think there is a necessary logic behind it. To me it's far more diverse than just a natural need to procreate. Of course you can experience love, since there are different forms of it. Not all love is just between two people who want to get married, for example. People can even love one another from afar, I think. I just depends on what you're looking for and if another person can supply what you want. The intricacies behind it are much more then I, and most people can explain.

Accepting that you could end up with a dark haired, dark eyed partner who looks more like a Cro-Magnun than a supermodel.
