I've been doing some marketing to encourage people to buy certain products for Valentine's Day from the business I work for. Never before has it felt like such a load of hype and commercialism, not that I was that impressed by it anyway. I don't agree with mandatory expressions of affection or enforced gift giving (yes I am a hyporcite because I'm trying to sell stuff to people who are willing to go along with it.) More fool them.
Don't worry about that. I cleaned up around the Valentines isles & every other seasonal isle during various holidays at the the largest retail chain in the word. I despise their business practices & had a bad opinion about that before I started working there which got worse of coarse. But I never thought of myself as a hypocrite but rather an employee trying to do the job he was supposed to do to the best of his ability/aka great work ethic. They'd have someone else market if you didn't & people would still buy Valentines stuff if that business wasn't around. The economy really sux rite now & marketing is a job lots here including me would have major problems with so try to take pride in that.
