Since America is a melting pot, they're will also be a few bastards and b*****s melted in with the rest. Just seems like in the past few years that more and more getting added though. I guess before you understand why women act the way they do now you need to take a look back at the 1910's-early 1920's or what I as a historian call "The First Female Sexual Revolution." See for the longest time women have been depicted as being subservient in men, in some far different ways than today, such as the woman having to work all day and give her earnings to a man, or the fact that arranged marriages where still a common thing in the U.S. Then finally after years of campaigning and fighting and rightfully earning there place as equals women are given the right to vote. Needless to say the government and many of America's MFGs hate the fact another minority has gained the right to vote, so what you do when a minority gains the right to vote? If you said "educate them on voting," then I'm sorry but that's incorrect. No, you gotta turn the media on this new perception of women being intelligent strong and independent, so thus the concept of fashion is born. Over the 1920's the way we perceived women in society was altered from a "free, smart woman" becoming of less value to society than a "pretty, thin woman." It remained this way briefly changing during WWII when women where needed as a labor force, but it all went back to the same s**t once the war ended. It wasn't till the "Second (or Drastic) Sexual Revolution" that our views began to shift once more, this time though with the added benefit of men and women being able to express how they feel sexual with more ease. Yet history has a hard way of repeating itself, and it's very clear to tell that in the decades following the Second Revolution, a woman's beauty was placed higher than what she has to say. It's 2014 now though, and women are the equals they wanted to be, and in my opinion you said it best by showing that with the divorce rate at it's at right now proves that women can abuse men as well. So women are people that simply had to adhere to the morals and ideas that where invented about 90 years ago, and it was only about 40 years ago that they broke form that trend, only to let it happen again, only this time more woman are self-conscious and are less likely to adhere to the sexual norm.

Now as if I think American women are better than foreign women. Well a girl I have a crush on was born in America and raised in Russia, an exchange student from Germany treated me very nicely in school, and I'm friends with a Filipino girl; so overall I have had better experiences with most foreign women than most American women, but hey I know a lot of American girls who are really nice, and my foreign friends have told me of girls in their home countries who are just complete b*****s.

There is a custom in Japan (and in a lot of Asian countries) that the wife holds the money, pays the bills, and gives her husband an allowance. A fair number of Japanese girls do seem to like to marry foreign men. Hopefully this would be the first area of compromise, unless you fully trust her pecuniary abilities.

As a woman who's been on this earth for 57+ years, I have to ask "why do guys like bitchy women?" It goes both ways - men like the "chase," too. Why else did that author who wrote the book "The Rules" make millions of dollars off of it by teaching women how to be beyotches?

FWIW, I don't like boring guys, but I don't like cocky ones, either. I like them to have quiet, but not showy, self-confidence.

I think the lesson here is that neither gender should behave as a doormat. If you're not sure enough about yourself to be able to stand up for what you believe in, you probably shouldn't be in a relationship in the first place.
