Hehe..I see many men in line....you're 283776th men in line.
That's the only obstacle between us.

If I remain single 10 years later..will you marry me? seriously? :D

In my eyes it's highly possible that she already knew how much he liked her but still she thought it's okay with him being tortured for two weeks. I would never do that regardless which stage the relationship is in.

But Caty thinks this is the greatest thing in history. "Every woman in the world" can't be wrong. :lmao:

Omission bias. People feel less or not at all responsible for the consequences of not doing something. She has a choice between feeling fully responsible for disappointing him, and feeling partly or not at all responsible for something worse. Most people feel better about the worse consequence if they achieve it indirectly, so that they feel they can deny responsibility. There's even a song about it.

Perhaps you're more consequentialist than average.

Thanks for opening my eyes and helping me to realize again that people are different. =) I am still being surprised that there exist people who think such a way as being quoted.

I wouldn't allow any labels for my moral being though. When it comes to my action to others, my own intuitions seem see the effects of the action in advance and I choose not to hurt others in any potential forms but when I am hurt by others I don't judges the rightness and wrongness of behaviors by their consequences I only focus on others' initial intention if the intention was good they are good people regardless its outcome.

No need to wait that long, I reject you right now because you are putting me behind 283775 men, that's not so flattering for someone who wants to marry you, you know. :P

The thing about the original post though, the girl knows the guy in person, and she ignored him after accepting to meet - that's bit rude.
If I were you, I would ghost her too....partly, and if you meet her again in college don't walk to her way to say hi, she won't do it. If she passes by within 45 degrees within sight scope and she doesn't react, then do the same - she probably won't.

Unless if you bump into each other by chance, face to face, then you can say hi or nod slightly just out of courtesy and for not showing any grudge, but go on with your route while you are saying Hi, don't attempt top stop to start a conversation.

Ok, here a short real story, there was a girl I met like back in Feb or March, and I had a good interaction with her frequently and she was giving me details of her life like where she lives and where she works - I realize now that I was obviously showing interest in her because the moment I saw her every time I attempted to talk to her.

She turned out we have mutual colleagues - so I told her I ll add her o fb, later on at home I sent her a message and friend request, we chatted several times, it was about sports and activities, nothing about dating or things like that; then I told her I sent her a friend request - she ignored that message completely, she ignored another Hi there next day, both were read (facebook shows you if message was read or not).

So....I've applied the ghosting policy above ever since, at first few times I kinda forced myself not to go after her when I saw her but later on it became natural as If she became a total non-significant acquaintance to me.

There was once instance of conversation during all this period (after my ghosting policy), and it was by complete chance.

On September 4 (just checked my fb chat now ), she accepted my friend request and chatted with me, after about half year, what gives? But my interest in her is totally dead.

Wow didn't expect this many responses... anyways I am still really interested in this girl. These past two weeks I have talked to about 20 other women online and none of them seemed to truly be interested in me. So now that it has been almost a month since that last message to her, would I still seem desperate if I message her once more? I am also considering acting like those last two messages never happened, just like she is doing, and I will just ask her again if we could meet. Also regarding the point about attractive looking women, I do not consider this girl to be even average compared to all the others..

If vote for no. If she had wanted to see you, she'd have responded to the messages you sent last month. I dunno if it'd be "desperate" but if two messages didn't elicit a response, there's no reason to believe a third somehow will.

People do the things they want to do!

Well I can forget about it now, she just unmatched me in the past few hours... I wonder what took her three weeks to do that, and how ironic that I was just about to message her once more... sigh
