Its quite the contrary with me, except no one really wants to. I can talk an arm off if i get the perception someone is interested in me. Which rarely happens.

As for lifelong friends, well they can come from anywhere. But its only gonna happen when people want to.

I'd like to kick myself because I do have one friend who lives in N Dakota, but I keep thinking of him as an acquaintance when it probably is a step above that because we have sent gifts at Christmas and I have his picture in my livingroom. We only communicate by email and that is probably once every 4 months or so and he's not "the talker" if you know what I mean. So yes, it i possible - it's just probably not going to be the gabbing that I'm used to.

OMFG, what the women would think of my username and avatar then??

I don't know what women think, but I just can't stop thinking about Doctor Who when you post.

It makes me think about Doctor Who too.

That's a good thing, Doctor Who makes a lot of women go horny.

Oh brother. And that's why you remind me of Dr. Ruth.

Hahahah, yeah. When I joined up I never thought about dating on here. Was just looking for my kinsmen.

Oh well, judge me on the name if you want, I probably wouldn't be interesting in someone that fickle.
Although, with Aspergers having meltdowns, perhaps it has more meaning here, and that is why I did address it in that post (thanks for pointing that out).

Thanks for the feedback on pming.

I was trying to be helpful--I'm not in your dating pool anyway, as I haven't been looking to date for over 10 years. I wouldn't consider you for a date no matter what your name is because I'm not considering anyone for dating. I'm actually happier single than I was when I was dating--it wasn't worth sorting through all the drama queens and egotists and bullies and people with psychological issues. Anyway, good luck!

Hey, I wasn't directing that at you in particular. Just a wide swarth of people that would do that. I understand that my name could cause some initial hesitation.

Yeah, I can get that. It would perhaps be more of a one off to let someone know that you think they're cool. And perhaps invite more interaction on the forums, or sharing some topics over different mediums perhaps.

eg. Hey, I love reading about your writing style.
Here is a paragraph of my upcoming novel. If you like it, you can tell me what you think - I'd appreciate your opinion.
I also frequent this writing forum: WrtingForSword&Sorcery.magic/ my user name is Babayaga.

Stay cool
Brian

Rather than a high pressure message that requires a response, or is even blatantly trying to hook up :D

Dr. Who? I think of him as Dr. Ruth.

If you watched the Russel T. Davies era of Doctor Who you'd probably think about it too.
