Hmmm, yes it's more my sinus issues that put me off smoke or rather how the smoke would irritate my sinuses.

My granpa died from smoking. I don't want 2nd hand cancer if I do t already have it from years of exposal from my uncle as a kid.
I also don't want to go through watching my SO die from it either .

Also the few I tried with took asking them to not smoke around me or use chewing gum after as an horrible attack against them. How dare I ask not to be exposed to their disgusting habit. Lucky theirs lots of smokers for them to be with.

I'm also sensitive to smells.

Ugh, god no. I know some smokers, it's a revolting habit and they're almost always addicted to the stuff. You get bombarded with gross smelling smoke that sticks to your clothes and if you've got sensitive lungs (like me) can trigger coughing fits. It's very expensive and there's a myriad of health problems associated with it.

Don't think you can just step in and cure somebody of smoking addiction, because it's much more complicated than that. It'd be a constant up-hill battle that you have little chance of winning, and that's even when the smoker agrees that it's bad for them, god help you if they're still in the denial stage.

For me, it's an absolute deal breaker.

No. Smell is my worst sensory problem and cigarette smoke positively reeks.

Answer used to be no way, but having a very close friend who smokes a bit has changed my mind a bit on that. I can tolerate it from him so can of others, to an extent. If they smoke once in a while or very little, and they're an amazing person & match otherwise, then yeah, I can. (and am, kinda) I'll smoke once in a blue moon myself (Djarum Black), so w/e, even though I don't care for the smell of regular cigs at all I can tolerate that someone smokes a little bit. I'd prefer they quit, though, and would support it but wouldn't nag them.

I prefer to distinguish between casual dating and LTR. "Go out" with a girl who smokes, yes. Start a romantic relationship with one, no.

My issue with tobacco goes waaay back. My dad was diabetic and smoked all the time. He was literally falling apart the last time he ended up in the hospital.

I'd hang out with my aunt sometimes after I graduated from college, and the smoke was always thick in her house. So I watched her deal with COPD and constantly sucking oxygen.

And all through childhood my grandparents' friends suffering from emphysema and stage 4 lung cancer, congestive heart failure, liver problems from drinking...you name it. People just coming apart right in front of me, all heavy smokers. People in their 30's and 40's looking like they're pushing 80, or so I used to think, and now I know octogenarians with beautiful, smooth skin and still have all their teeth.

I take marriage vows VERY seriously, the whole better/worse, sickness/health thing. I know that these are things I risk dealing with whether she smokes or not. It's just that smokers, heavy drinkers, and drug addicts are like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You know how this ends. You see every opportunity to turn back that was missed. You know the exact moment they hit that point of no return. And no matter how bad it hurts and you want to turn away, you can't.

No, I won't tolerate a relationship with a self-destructive person. People have health problems bad enough without ensuring it will happen. I HAVE briefly dated two or three smokers, but only very briefly. Nothing that was really going anywhere anyway. But even if those dates did have real potential, the tobacco defo would have kept it from going to the next level.

No, because it is stupid.
But I find smokers to be addicts, they often need food or alcohol, sex or drugs too.

Yes.

I never smoked anything, but also I never was much of a kisser because I find kissing unhygienic. I've been around much nastier smelling things than tobacco smoke.

I won't date a pot smoker though... I made that mistake once.

BTW you won't believe what I saw online this morning... a nicotine molecule pendant!! ! What a nice way to tell the Virginia Slims model you've been dating that you have the hots for her.

I come from a family of poor physical AND mental health.

Being one of the healthiest people in my family, and I say that with full confidence, I also desire a girl who takes care of herself, as I've seen first-hand what poor health does to people.

I eat healthy, exercise, rest well, care about my mental health, am hygienic, social drinker, non-smoker, no drugs, not a self-harmer, not an addict of anything.

All I ask for is a girl who is around half of those things, preferably maintains a healthy weight, non smoker, cares for her mental health, is hygienic and some mild drugs like weed is fine sometimes is okay, but not an addict.

If she eats like crap but is a healthy weight, that's fine. If she rarely exercises but again, does sometimes to keep the fat off, that's fine too. Not a good sleeper? Meh, I don't care.

No cigarette smokers for me. A cigar here and there wouldn't be a problem - just not too close around me since I now have asthma.

Nope. I don't want my stuff to smell like smoke, don't want to have any contribution towards her habit, don't want to throw money away regarding her habit, don't want to watch my wife possibly die a horrific slow death.

No. I don't care how much chemistry we have or how attractive they are otherwise, smoking is an instant dealbreaker. It stinks, the smell gets into everything and if dating turns into a long-term relationship, I don't want to see the person I love suffer or die from a smoking-related disease.

I prefer non-smokers, but I did date one smoker and it didn't bother me much. Luckily, cigarettes are becoming too expensive for most people around here.

I would, if that person was right for me in other ways. I can't stand cigarette smoke though, so they'd have to do it well away from me.
