I experienced something similar, a few years, ago, although, he wasn't a longterm relationship, but, the experience tought me a lot about the way most malignant narcissists and predatory people operate, and because they utilize a mask to establish a relationship, trust, etc, once you realize their true nature, it can be difficult, because your mind and/or heart has become so conditioned. Missing him might make the process of moving on, a bit hard, but you seem to care about yourself and well-being, and as others have mentioned, 'you have a good head on your shoulders', so, you will get through it...!
