I asked her what food she likes. She said she doesn't have a favourite food but she enjoys good food.

Above all, don't tell her how "little" you've accomplished. That will turn her off right away. It's a death-knell for any relationship.

That's a good idea but she's much smarter than me. I cannot pretend to be in the same intellectual league as her. Somehow I have to not pretend to be as smart as her without being down on myself.

She especially didn't like hearing that in ten years of piano lessons and hardly ever practicing (regrettably) I never got past grade 2, when she's up to grade 2 and she's only been on piano for 18 months (my other problem is that I'm not good as sight reading and committing a song to muscle memory is a slow process. I've been thinking I should learn to play be ear).

^ from your pic's source: http://whitmanwire.com/opinion/columnis ... ese-girls/

Quote:
China had a feudal society for over two thousand years. During this time women had few rights. Their parents decided their marriages. Some of them did not see their fiancés until the wedding day. A woman’s virginity was indispensable. If a man found his wife was not a virgin when they got married, he could kick her out. As a result, the woman would be discriminated against and would be regarded as a whore. She could not go back to live with her parents because it was such a humiliation. Most likely, she would end up selling her body at a whorehouse or committing suicide.

Changes in culture never happen overnight. These values have been passed on by generations. Therefore, virginity is still a big deal to most Chinese women, even though China is a very modernized country where fans are upgraded to air conditioners, black and white TVs are upgraded to LCD screens and mud houses are upgraded to skyscrapers.

Jeez, the above is entirely and exactly like the traditional/conservative Arab communities. 'Honor' all this s**t.

Quote:
If a Chinese girl were to have sex with her boyfriend, it would mean she thought of him as her prospective husband. So take it slow when you date a Chinese girl; she needs time to confirm that you are the one she wants to join for the rest of her life, not only in her bed.

I confirm that, not only for Chinese, but for almost all Asian/Eastern girls living locally.

I got lucky in that I still had no idea what my now wife thought of me as she seemed lukewarm at best on date #3. We were walking downtown on a hill and it was snowing heavily. The sidewalks were already icy and dangerous and obviously snow makes it much worse. I instinctively grabbed her hand and safely got her to her car. Then, since she seemed to enjoy it I just 'dove right in' at the parking lot. One thing I should mention is that I fell in love with her FAR before she did with me. That's okay and assume if she still sees you she is still interested although if I had my time back I would not have progressed things so quickly.

It is my experience that the only women who initiate, at least at first are not relationship material. Obviously there are exceptions but that's a good general rule to live by.

I figured she would.

Is she smart in history/economics, or in computers?

Think about Gardner's notion of multiple intelligences in your self-assessment vis-a-vis her.

She's smart in some things. You're smart in some things.

I guess that's true. She's very smart in science and maths. And obviously she's bilingual lol
