It can be a moment for bonding, having a quiet word with someone, gossiping, checking cosmetic things... make up, hair, sharing perfume/fixing a friends outfit.
It's usually to check up on ourselves and each other, or we saw someone do something stupid or funny in public and wanted to laugh about it some more in private, or we just to go to the bathroom to use the bathroom,
no one likes to sit alone unless they're saving a seat/table.

It seems to be a world wide and cross-cultural phenomena, whenever you're in an outing, and one woman says she wants to pass to the toilet, all women of the group follow her. It seems to be more apparent in 20-35 age bracket.
What's really going on inside? Some form of Lesbian orgy activity Or a tarzan call effect?
But seriously, this is very true, haven't you ever noticed it guys?
And ladies, reveal this damn secret already.
I imagine some go to the restroom together for safety reasons, and others might go to discuss a potential mate...though I was at a "trendy" party once...the only one I've ever been to, and I was standing in the restroom waiting for a stall, when two able bodied looking ladies came out of the handicapped stall....I have no idea what that was all about. I know that gay sex is a "thing" in men's restrooms, at least in the U.S., but that doesn't really happen in women's restrooms. When I told my friend about this, he speculated they might have been doing illicit substances together. Obviously that would not be among the top reason that some women go to the restroom together though. I would speculate that gossip might be the primary reason.
So you do admit that gossip is a common trait among women.
How surprising/ sarcasm.
Could be that all women of the group go together to the bathroom because everyone is afraid to be a subject of gossip and don't want to give that opportunity?

I don't think women gossip any more than men...they just use more words to do it. By "gossip" I meant discussing the dates they are with, or men they have met...not other women. At least this is what I imagine they do at clubs. I wouldn't really know as I don't go to clubs, and in the places I frequent, women just go to the restroom to use the toilet or touch up their makeup.

Well, I am sure their bladders aren't synchronized.

Actually, many women I know will take the opportunity to take a bathroom break at the same time precisely because they don't want to interrupt whatever else is going on with a consecutive string of bathroom visits. If you're out drinking, it's very easy to empty your bladder when someone else does--and perhaps even a wise strategy.
It's been a long time since I've been out with a group that would take bathroom breaks together, but in my experience, it was more about going together so one of us didn't feel more self-conscious about her bodily functions, makeup touch-ups, or what have you. In my "circle," it was also a sort of courtesy to invite another woman to go with you, or to accompany another who was going.
I'm nowhere near the age when gossip was a "thing," but it wasn't/isn't a big pursuit of mine, anyway--I don't like it. I really despise the assumption that that's what women are about.

I don't understand, how is it easier? you would crowd the bathroom if you go all together, no?

I don't understand that either, how pissing next to a friend makes one less self-conscious about bodily functions?

Its mote time-effectient. It takes less time to go as a group, use 3 stalls at once and get in as soon as a stall is free than use 1 out of 3 stalls at a time. And at the same time the ones who already used the stall can use the sinks, do makeup or just talk if bored. If you go alone you do your stuff using 1 of the 3 stalls at a time, then waste even more time using the sink and fixing make up and still have to walk back to the room where everyone is. If a lot of people uses bathroom 1 at a time it can easily turn from 5mins break to 30 mins streak of interrupting and for the 30 mins there is always 1 person missing so they miss something from the talk/fun.

Girls restrooms have separate stalls and girls generally make a lot of noise, especially when in group (all the talking, handwashing, and moving in general) so pissing "next to a friend" is not an issue. Besides - your friend knows right well that you are a human and need to piss or change pad sometimes but it's kinda embarrassing to admit it in front of a group of strangers, especially opposite sex.
Also when you go to a restroom together as a group it's hard to keep track on who is going there just for company and who is actually having her period or some kind of cystitis because most girls will use the stalls anyway, even if they are not desperate to pee. "In advance." You probably pee before leaving the house when you know there won't be any restroom around for a while, right? That kind of "advance". Or perhaps guys are not used to emptying their bladders before it gets full because its too easy for you to pee anywhere?
In a way you could say girls bladders are actually synchronized - because we will empty our bladders at the same time even if they weren't initially equally full. And after that they will fill in similar time.
Also when you hear someone saying they need to pee you automatically focus on your own bladder and might decide you need to pee too. It's like with yawning. A lot of people yawn when they see someone yawning or even hear about yawning.
Sometimes I will also go to the restroom when other girls are going there because... I don't know... because it is boring alone? I don't want to be the only one left in the room? There is noone to keep quard on the stall door and they often lack locks? The sounds are echoing in restroom when you are alone and whoever happens to hear it and see you leaving afterwards they will know it was you and when there is a few people peeing at once you never know who makes the sound? Or it could be simple need of company - just as with shopping or eating.
I think guys would do the same thing if most male restrooms had separate stalls to use in both cases - pee and poop. I quess it is embarrassing to go to a restroom with a friend which he can either see your dick as you pee or think you are going to poop depending on your stall choice. It's probably the reason why guys don't go to restrooms together like girls do. Male restrooms lack privacy.
I notice that when a bathroom has 5 urinals, the 2nd and 4th urinal rarely gets used.
