You're right, Underwater. People around the time of the heyday of the Vikings tended to be quite violent, and oppression by the upper classes towards the lower classes tended to be considerable all around. Yes, the history books were definitely written from the viewpoint of Christians.

I like it when I'm taught the history of a nation from the viewpoint of a resident of that nation. It helps me understand things. I wish I married a woman who has this feature in her---the desire to virtuously teach.

Of course I made a mistake. We call him Leif Ericsson---the explorer. I was in sort of a rush when I wrote this LOL.
