Oh and I really don't mind if someone calls me racist because of my preferences. That's the easiest card to pull when you don't like someone's opinion.

No one called you racist.

Though that initial statement about Asian men not being males certainly kind off came of that way. I'd be kind of surprised if you can't see why it may have come off that way.

I know my post will cause the typical “No, it’s just a personal preference” reactions - my reply would be that’s b.s; so let’s not discuss it. As spiderpig said... the truth hurts.

I'll admit they are some races I do find less attractive than others but I was more than willing to give them a chance based on other things & I don't think I would of let race factor into it. However I've been called racist before for wanting to go the mail-order bride route. I was called racist against American women even thou I was very willing to to go out with American women & was wanting to go the mail-order bride route because I couldn't find any interested in giving me half a chance. The ironic thing is that I would of been called racist too if I was only wanting to date American women. I don't get how that line can work for opposite things. I cant please all the people all the time.

People also call you racist if you don't have any black friends or Native Americans or Hispanics, etc. But what if you are someone who has troubles making friends or you live somewhere where everyone is only one race? It's not like you can just move to a big city where it's all diverse.

How would the mail order bride thing work for someone on ssi?

I was on SSI & now SSDI but I couldn't quite figure that part out. If I started working again, I would of been able to save up some money & then done it.

it's obviously normal and natural to be attracted to some kind of features than other
but it's not normal and natural that this taste is quite homogenized and correlates to a prejudiced structure in society

i guess the point of criticizing this sort of stuff isn't to acuse an individual for liking blondes or asians. But to understand how it happens in a wider, generic level, and to see what structures lead to them – isn't any society influence saying some traits is prettier or more desirable?

you're still entitled to personal preferences, but it's important to know from where they come.

The point of criticizing someone else's preferences is to stick your nose into their personal business, rather than minding your own.

I can't really tell what this topic is asking for exactly ... I don't fetishize people and never have as far as I know. I actually didn't even know what a fetish was until I got into my 20s anyway. I did have things that would constitute as a fetish but it be mostly things rather then people.

Well whoever called you racist for that isn't very smart....American isn't really a specific race.

Ahh alright....though what is one supposed to think if you claim asian men aren't males, or if someone said black women aren't females. It certainly does sound racist, however no one is perfect its possible to slip up and say something inappropriate which could be the case here.

Well if someone posts they refuse to date anyone of such and such race, then I am likely to criticize it. Because I don't believe something that vague is a mere personal preference. I mean its not like everyone of a given race/ethnicity looks exactly alike...

Also what I observe and have experienced is peoples personal preferences tend to be flexible, and are much more specific than things like ethnicity/race. It is possible people of some ethnicities may be more likely to fit someones personal preferences depending on what they are but I think that is about the extent of it. If someone outright declares they refuse to date anyone of such and such race then yeah I'd assume there is a little bit of racism mixed into that 'preference'.

They're still entirely within their rights to practice and profess that kind of racism. You don't need to associate with those people if you don't like them. I don't like them, either, but this is irrelevant.

I'd rather date a nerdy/geeky Asian or Arabic girl than a "smoking hot" redneck woman that male rednecks and general Bible Belt jerks boast about.

And I am entirely within my rights to criticize that kind of racism, especially if someone publicly posts about it on social media. I mean its not like I want those people to be made to date someone of another ethnicity...that would be bad for that person of another ethnicity.
