when I was young with the metabolism of 2 men, I could routinely scarf down a whole pizza in one sitting, with a chocolate malt/PB milkshake as a chaser. I miss those days. :|

Would you eat two other meals that day :?: I might could eat a whole one in a day but that would be all I would eat that day.

The only problem with pizza is that one pizza is usually 1500-2000 calories depending on size, so one pizza can easily be your whole day worth of calories. So if you eat a big breakfast, a big lunch and then a whole pizza for dinner, you're gonna end up in a calorie surplus.

I eat pizza quite frequently and I'm ripped.

Well, the base (bread) is loaded with carbs, so if it's a thick base that's a lot to work off. And some pizzas are really greasy (fatty) so there's more calories to work off. I think most people would put on weight if they ate loads of poor quality pizzas without exercising. I usually make my own, with healthy topping and thin base.

That's what I said, the only problem is that eating a whole pizza is alot of calories(it's a big meal), it has nothing to do specifically with it being bread, cheese, tomato sauce and meat.

I could eat pizza everyday, and stay lean, even without exercising. It just requires some calorie control. Which people don't want to do, so they blame certain food groups instead.

Sorry for going off topic. I am just so damn tired of junk food blaming, and I hate the term "junk food" with a passion.
The term doesn't even make sense. Eating a pizza is no more unhealthy than eating a chicken pasta dish, yet people view these two meals as opposites.

The pizza has a lot of calories and 1 piece of it doesn't feel very filling, and it's so tasty that even if you eat half pizza is still lot of cals (not the domino one, i prefer the traditional thin italian pizza).

The traditional italian pizza may be even loaded with more cals than Domino's pizza because they use the full-fat mozzarella cheese.

at least in amuuurica, the garden-variety consumer pizza is loaded with salt and refined carbs and unhealthy fats. so by that definition it can be lumped in with so-called "junk" [poorly nutritive] foods. chicken pasta ain't that healthy, either.

From a Quora commenter:

Junk food = "Any food product whose calorie count exceeds the calories to be desired through two meals of the day is a junk food".

Also a typical burger from restaurants has way more meat /bread than vegetables, so you are in deficit of vitamins despite getting much calories (in a Whooper burger they put....one tomato slice, two pickles, one onion slice? little cabbage?), let's not forget the fries and the coke with which most people pair the burger with, the burger alone isn't the real problem really, a homemade grilled burger with a lot of veggies may be even healthier than pizza or even a shawarma.

A beef shawarma sandwich (or what you know as Doner, not the same taste at all, but the closest to what you may familiar with, shawarma has vinegar as main ingredient while doner doesn't) has more cals count than a burger (if not counting fries and coke) but it's also typically full of vegetables, it's almost a meat + full-salad in one sandwich, so it's a tad healthier per cal capita when compared...to a full BK burger meal. Both would be considered junk food though.

Here's the thing though, it's all about context. If you've already gotten plenty of veggies and fiber beforehand, the last thing you need is more fiber, at that point you might want more protein, fat ect. and then the burger oddly enough might be a better choice than more veggies.

A little trick: I drink a veggie smoothie every morning, and supplement with the best multi on the market, so I never ever worry about being vitamin or mineral deficient. The rest of the day I pretty much eat whatever I want, as long as I get enough protein, and don't go overboard with my calorie intake. Whether I eat burger, pizza, shawarma or even ice cream doesn't matter much.

The "only eat healthy" paradigm doesn't work. I keep telling you guys: IT DOES NOT WORK. All the people I know who stay extremely lean all year, oddly enough have a very flexible, loose and non dogmatic approach to eating. One of the guys at my gym, who has placed top 3 in a national (natural) fitness competition several years in a row does the same thing. When I meet him at the gym he often laughs and talks about eating too much at burger king. The key is that these people have very good intution as too how much food they can get away with eating, and then take a step back. You can develop this intuition by tracking your calorie intake for a while, and then just wing it like I do. I've stayed at 10% or below for 3 years, and it's been extremely easy.

In my experience, people with extreme approaches usually get extremely sh***y results.

Btw my cholesterol levels went back to the "medically-accepted*" normal ranges without any medications.

The trick for me was eating more nuts and olive oil, and less fries and full-fat food like butter. And oh, more cardio.

*Highly controversial

What is the best multi on the market :?: I eat pretty unhealthy but I do take a multi & some other vitamins on top of eating cereal for breakfast which contains some vitamins but it might still help if I try a better multi.

It's a swedish brand, so probably only available in sweden. But you could probably do a quick search for which supplements are highest rated in the us. My multi costs rougly 60$ for 365 capsules, so I think it's a pretty cost effective supplement and well worth it, especially if you don't eat well.

Btw, a multi is most effective when taken with a fatty meal, since roughly half of the vitamins are fat soulable(B,D and E), and the others are water soluble. If your cereal is low fat, half of the vitamins won't be absorbed. That's also why a good green smoothie needs some fat in it aswell. I usually use an avacado, or some heavy cream.

learn to read the ingredients list on the back, which tells you how much over RDA [Recommended Daily Allowance] each vitamin has in the pill. for vitamin K you want at least 75% of RDA, 100% is better. for vitamin C, the higher the better.

When I was young and weighed as much as two men, I could do that too. I don't miss being obese.

My weight goes up and down yet I never seem to go up or down in clothing size. It doesn't matter how little I eat. I stay within the 230s, 240s and 250s. I don't eat pizza very often and don't over eat unless I get emotional. Therefore I don't know if I have a fast, moderate or low metabolism.

I don't get grossed out when I see people of any shape or size eat. People who do are just being critical of others.
