The kind guy. The honest guy. The responsible guy.

Both have good personalities in different ways but i'm not really physically attracted to either, i've tried to be. It's hard to find a good man these days though especially when you're different from everyone else and I have noticed that many people don't accept that completely or have the patience to deal with it. :/ These guys both do.

I'm single... And I have been cheated on. I'd never do that to anyone else I still struggle to get over the damage that did to me. F*K off.

Don't date either one.

You don't HAVE to always be dating someone. Even if you are what's considered different. It's not like a requirement. You're allowed to stay single until someone you really like comes along.

Cultural reference. There used to be a television game show called "Let's Make A Deal". It featured guests choosing one of three doors. Behind one was usually a new car, behind another was something less valuable like a kitchen appliance, and behind the remaining door was a gag gift -- maybe a goat or some other farm animal.

"What's behind door number three?" means that the person is looking for a possible third option.

It may be that you can't make a choice because you feel pressure to do so. The feeling of duty can really destroy any attraction.

... but not both responsible? That's sexier than it might seem, because "responsible" is the one who will show up on the Interstate at 3 a.m. when your car has broken down...

Resilience under fire is a prerequisite if a person wants to attain true transcendence.

I have to learn that lesson myself.

@kraftie: Resilience under fire is a good thing certainly - so is knowing which fires are worth fighting, and which are not.

I tend not to argue the obvious and I know that what's obvious to me at 63 wasn't at all obvious to me at 23, or 33, or even 43 in some instances .

So... I share what I know *if* I'm reasonably sure of it, and if I think it might help. It might only make sense a decade or more down the road in some cases. That's good enough, because some other person, reading casually, might find something that helps them immediately.

(And I've received a *lot* of help in just exactly that way. Much of it here, TBH!)
