My 1st girlfriend was 15 when I was 20 & she was an NT. My 2nd girlfriend was 19 & I was 28 & she was on the spectrum.
It's pretty common for those of us on the spectrum to mature slower than our NT counterparts. Some stuff I've read say on average an Aspie's mental age is a 3rd less than their physical age. That's just an average thou so there's plenty of variation. It's also more common for NT girls to be in relationships with NT guys who are older than them & less common for NT girls to be in relationships with NT guys who are younger than them. Some people think NT girls mature faster than NT boys so maybe that's why. This said it makes more sense for an Aspie guy to go for NT girls who are younger instead of the other way around.
