Sorry for the delay in replies - I do really appreciate all the advice!
Pepe: Haha well I'm glad you didn't have to waste the time typing it out 
I do have discomfort with others taking my picture as well, unfortunately, my cousin's wife took some pictures of me after I graduated high school and I was a horrible model (I could not pose or make expressions to save my life, all I can do is default a smile)
that1weirdgrrrl: That's a good idea! She's very shy and skittish so it'll be a delicate task but I would love to have some pictures with her (her being my cat)
nick007: That's a good analogy! I agree that pictures are something that apparently 'has' to happen sometimes so I can learn to accept them when they're necessary.
sly279: Okay! I noticed there was a singles' thread but I didn't know if it was relatively active and my shyness prevented me from trying but I think I'll try it!
