Hey, I resemble that remark!

There is a woman at work, older than me, who is constantly failing in her hunt for the elusive "Silver Fox". I think she makes it a bit too obvious that she's only interested in what's in their trousers.... by which I mean, their wallet.

OP: It seems to be pretty standard for men to be attracted to younger women. Going back a bit, large age-gaps were the norm - I get the impression men in their thirties or forties marrying 17-year-olds was common in the 19th century.

For ages I had a crush on a woman nine years older than me, and nowadays women in their twenties trigger my "Caution: Jailbait" alarm. I guess my window of attractiveness started with a slightly higher than normal upper edge, and is aging up with me.

I'm not attracted to women my own age.

I'm 38, but I generally prefer women who 25-28.

Now, before someone comes in here and says "you know that young women will grow older over time, right?", I would like to point out that there's a difference between someone who grows old with me, and someone who is already old when we meet for the first time. I'm fine with a woman who grows older with me in a relationship, but I need that initial physical attraction to spark something at the start. I settled for my ex out of desperation and was never attracted to her, so I feel a strong desire to make up for what I missed out on when I was younger.

Younger women tend to have better breeding prospects.
This it the underlying psychology/instinct at play, hence the perceived attractiveness.

It is all about the "mating game', my friend.

The reason for this is predominantly with the reproduction process in mind.
You really do have a thing about this concept.

Usually, when I see a mother with a daughter, I tend to go for the mother.

This has been happening since I was young.

I don't like "mommy types," though.

Not really.

It's about stages not ages.

I think it would be weird if it was NT and NT or esp if it was autistic and autistic.

I don't understand this concept that's why. I'm trying to get my head round it ethically.

Also if it was about reproduction, most people are cis so why is twink porn so popular?

According to Borat, that 17 year old would be too old for a man in his 60s.

Women, in their 20s, are gaol-bait?
Could you explain your thinking about this?

Doesn't "jail-bait" mean an underaged girl that someone is sexually attracted to? I think he means that women in their twenties seem way, way too young for him now and it makes him uncomfortable?

People in their 20's are never "jailbait."

In New York State, 17-year-olds are "jailbait" for people 21 years of age and older.

Yep.
That is probably it.

I think he needs to work on that, not to take advantage, but to clean out the conditioned crap that society has installed.

Cis (Cisgender) means that your gender identity matches your assigned sex. A twink, from my understanding, is a
(typically young) feminine gay man. I don't understand your question.

Eh, if I was his age I don't know if I'd be attracted to 20 year-old women either. I can see how seeing someone as super young can make you unattracted to them without it necessarily being due to societies expectations. Everyone has preferences.

20 isn't 'super young'.
As someone mentioned, in the 18 hundreds, in Europe, women were married at the age of 17, not that I have done research on this myself.

The concept that a young, beautiful woman is not attractive to older men is pure nonsense.
Most simply don't talk about it.

For the record, I do find beautiful 20 year old women beautiful.
I must be a very odd/bad man.
But would I date them?
No.

BTW, are you aware that it is legal for an 18 year old woman to work in a sex parlour, here in Australia?
Are you also aware that there is no age restriction on the client?
I am not advocating for it.
I am simply telling you the facts. 8)

We almost always disagree.
Interesting, that.

Using an evolutionary context, it is *all* about reproduction.

There was a time where sex before marriage was heavily frowned upon, to the point where the woman, not the man, was ostracised. Hounded out of the community. Pregnant single women would go inter 'state' to live with relatives or friends to hide the fact that they were having a baby. The baby was then taken away from them and adopted out.
This was the perversity of some cultures, of our past, which adopted a toxic man/woman made morality system.

I find it odd that you are having difficulty with the concept of 'Arbitrary Man-Made Morality Codes'.
Yes, there are some practical considerations, such as if the person is psychologically developed enough to have a relationship, but we are talking about women in their twenties.

May I ask how old you actually are?
What you have said, in the past, has made it difficult to determine your age.
