My dodgy opinion again...

Which is better depends what you want out of it I guess.... full on, long-term, deep relationships are bloody hard work, and a major investment in time and emotional energy to make it work as it should. It has to be worth it to commit yourself wholeheartedly to someone, and the 'right' person for the job makes it so but can be hard to find. I consider myself extremely lucky in that respect, but it can still be stressful at times for both of us - having said which we have a damn good relationship and are still very much in love. Thats where I have a problem with idealised romantic love - love isn't like that. A good relationship needs give and take, and a little understanding and respect on both sides - but the rewards are massive.

Regarding flings and short term attachments, they're fun and a lot less stressful than the real deal. If all you want is someone to hang out and have fun with, nights out/in, etc, they're pretty much perfect.

I almost think I should have chosen "I have no interest in relationships", because I'm not actively looking for one. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind having a boyfriend. In fact, I'd like it.

I clicked the long-term relationship option, though, because if I got into a relationship, I'd want it to last. I don't want a bunch of short, two-or-three month relationships with people who I can't relate to or get along with or feel anything for. I'm rather idealistic as far as that goes.

I don't do flings, I consider them to be a waste of time, energy and emotions for myself. Since before my first relationship I knew I wanted a long term thing, rather than something that could be over in a matter of weeks or months.

I would love to have someone who will stay with me forever who I love.
I actually had a lovely relationship with David for 7 months which is the longest I have ever been in a relationship with someone and David was like my dream come true and he kept practising for when he would ask me to marry him....
Then last May after saying the day before we were made for each other and that he loved me more than anything in the universe... he dumped me just out of the blue for the crap reason that the age difference (which is only 18months) was bugging him.
