It's not stupid but it's a waste of time.

It's happened to me more times that I care to remember. When I was younger I would fall in love extremely easy and it took me quite a few years to understand that it doesn't have to work both ways.

Once I understood this it didn't happen so much.

@Babybird -
I miscommunicated about liking someone and not helping how one feels. However, you bring up a really great point because despite them making it perfectly clear they didn't like me like that, I chased them. Sure, I may have liked then no matter what but it didn't necessarily change their minds.
