I can TOTALLY relate. I felt SUPER depressed for the same reason. Then I Googled "Depressed after watching The Girl Next Door" and this old post from 2005 was on the top of the list. Im kind of relieved to know that someone have the exact same thing going on 8 years ago. And to be honest, I kept on watching the movie over and over again today, and it really feels like dreaming and I just really want to stay in it for quite a while till I was really really depressed for the whole day. Wonder how are you now. Anyways, I'll pray that you would have your heart desires fulfilled!

Aww, sorry to hear that. Well I had a same experience (but no crying and I was watching Little Manhattan), and I had the same thoughts too, but what happened in the last minutes of the movie made sense to me. (The part was Gabe telling Rosemary he hates her, and weeks later, after a talk with his dad, went to the wedding she was in, and told her everything he felt, including the part that he lied about hating her. they share their 1st and final dance after they talk.) Sorry for being spoiler-driven, but I can't help explaining that part.

It's a romantic comedy... it's supposed to be uplifting, reminding you that anyone can find love. And in the oddest of places.

That Matthew kid had no *really* immediately attractive qualities for girls. He was not direct, confident or daring. Yet he found love. To me, I view that as a reminder that there probably is a chance I will find someone.

I probably won't get Elisha Cuthbert, but that's what dreams are for... I look at the love game logically. In the Brisbane area where I live, theres over 1 million residents. All things being equal, that would make 500 000 women in my immediate vicinity. Out of 500 000, surely there has to be a few that would fit my needs as a person and as an Aspie. Same applies to all of us, in my opinion...

None of us will ever have Elisha Cuthbert, but there are girls like her out there. And yeah, GND was a good movie.
