Online dating is a good option for people who are good at dating.

If you are not good at dating, you could be handed the Glengarry leads and you will never close.

What do you think can be a solution to even the playing field so to speak for the genders in dating online? What changes to the algorithms will you propose?

The problem isn't so much the algorithms, although those could stand to be improved (OKC's algorithm has actually gotten worse over time for the sake of giving people more matches).

Online dating magnifies the problems with in-person dating: women rarely even initiate a relationship; they expect men to do so. And most women will have plenty of men to choose from.

Also, most people care primarily about looks. They hit on you mostly on whether they find you physically attractive, and want you to hit on them for the same reason. They won't fill out their profile with any meaningful information.
I've been told various times by men & lots of women that it's a good idea to read profiles & comment on things mentioned when sending 1st messages to women. I barely ever got any replies thou & lots of profiles I've read had no real info I could comment on. I kinda wonder if that advice is just BS I was told to help me feel more confident. If women really do want guys to read their profiles, they really need to put some kinda info there instead of just listing their favorite bands & movies/shows. What else do they like doing for fun? Are they introverted or extroverted? Are they open to a serious relationship if they like the person or do they move around a lot & are only wanting someone to watch TV with & listen to music with a couple times a month till they move again?

"they really need to put some kinda info there instead of just listing their favorite bands & movies/shows."

For some people mutual interests are really important.

I've seen a few that in their profile instead of answering questions like that they write "ask me." Which is an immediate red flag.
