Actually it is appropriate in some cases. Chemical castration is legally sanctioned for sex offenders whose victims were young. In some countries the age is 16, but I've seen as old as 19. These would be the "rare occasions" mentioned by Twilight.

It may not seem appropriate for a random person on the internet to joke about it for her own boyfriend, but we also lack the background information on why she came to that conclusion.

It's offensive if people are going to suggest "neutering" all sexually viable men, but it's not offensive to protect minors from SA. Likewise, I believe women or any other sex offender of children should be considered for comparable treatment, in accordance with the law.

^ People who commit sex crimes against adults also don’t deserve to have enjoyable sexual experiences, not even with fellow inmates or themselves IMO, especially if they are repeat offenders. They could reoffend.

Back on topic, many people have strange ideas about testosterone as we’ve seen displayed on WP, even by male members. It’s often due to ignorance or trolling.

Right. The only reason I didn't mention adults was because I'm not sure what the chemical castration laws are for people whose victims are over 19. I know it exists though. I remember reading it's even welcomed by some offenders, those who can't get their shite together, curb their impulses, or stop violating and assaulting other humans.

I don’t know what the laws are, either. I don’t always agree with laws or decisions made by justice systems, anyway. Sometimes guilty people go free or they get absurdly short sentences. It’s maddening.

When I first mentioned neutering, I was mostly joking around because it was in the OP.

Some things aren't funny. And I've got a very dark humor at times. I've met way too many people that think that it's a good idea, and clearly not in jest either. Also, that's why I use emotions and the like when making such jokes, it helps people know what I'm intending.

And oddly enough I don't think I've ever met anybody that thought female sex criminals should receive similar treatment.

Stop trolling and derailing this thread. It's inconsequential to me whether you get my jokes/find me funny or not. I have no sympathy for sex criminals of any gender. If you want to talk about this fascinating topic further, you could make a thread in PPR.

Decreasing someone’s testosterone makes them anxious and prone to outbursts. It might make more sense to increase someone’s testosterone.

I’m not trolling. I just don’t think you all know what you are talking about. Some of the things that men can do because of testosterone is not from rage. It gives a level head and makes someone think for themselves. If someone’s brain is at fault, just execute them. That makes more sense and takes the sexist agenda out of it.

We know what we're talking about, because we're talking about our points of view based on our lived experience as victims of aggravated sexual assault as children and adults, and, in my case, lived experience with the criminal court system and sentencing of violent offenders, some of whom happened to be women.

There's no "sexist agenda" for a person who has been exploited by one or more genders, so kindly refrain from making such a slanderous insinuation against me, TP, or any other member of this site who shares informed opinions about sex crimes
and / or gender-based violence.
