HA HA this reminds of my first little "puppy love" in first grade and my first kiss...

I went on a field trip to the trolley museum and their girl that kept sitting beside me on the trolleys... I didn't quite comprehend this behavior. Finally one of my peers pointed out that this girl liked me.

her name was Jessica, she was in kinergarden and had cute long blonde hair.

We ended up spending the day together and she kissed me.:D

This sounds like my first boyfriend sadly I was 15. Everyone kept going on about how he liked me but I did not get it until he put it into plain English!! 8O

For me, it would just depend. If I really liked the person and knew them at least somewhat I'd be perfectly eager and willing. However, in most cases if someone asked me to go out on a date I'd either turn them down or, if I thought they might just possibly be my type, I'd say something like 'Well, I'll think on it.'

Like I said earlier, I'd agree in a heartbeat. However, it would take me anywhere from a few seconds to a minute to recover from the initial shock. I'm very unaccustomed to girls showing interest in me, and even though it's been happening more often lately, I have a lot of difficulty actually noticing it. Sometimes I feel like a girl has to jump on me and start making out with me before I'll know she's interested.

I always say no.

Sometimes when people ask me out I think it's supposed to bea joke, and I say no automatically.

One person got all offended and stomped off.

But honestly, I thought it was a joke.

I'd turn down chicks all the time, It would always be a panicky feeling that came over me, I really didn't like being put in situations like that. Of course i kick myself now looking back at it, especially the time i turned down a girl who i had a massive crush on. D*mn you fool. :shameonyou:

I'm always in disbelief or think they're joking. im getting better about that though. the first time i got asked out i was in such utter disbelief. i found myself thinking about all the reasons nobody would want to be with me, trying to prove to myself that the other person was, indeed, playing a trick on me. i think that just stemmed from the awkwardness/teasing of middle school, so i was still in the mindset that i was a bad, fugly person that nobody would ever want. ive grown out of that though... i realize that im not the person i was in middle school.. and even if i were, i couldnt've been THAT bad...

You're lucky, hon - I haven't been able to. :(

I dunno how to answer the question at hand, simply because *no one* actually asks me out in "real life".

I got asked by the friends of this girl once, and my first reaction was "Is this a joke?". My school peers were always doing those sorts of things to me. It was a joke, but on the girl, not me. Weirdos, heh.

I'm just under 14 I've been asked out several times (when I was 11, I've been too ill to go to school or anything for the last two years) , but I've always said no for two reasons A. I was only 11 and I didn't want to go out with anyone (and I still don't) particularly when a boy who was about 15 asked me out 8O and B. I was never sure if it was a joke or not (a boy proposed to me once, but I'm sure that was a joke).

Your point about jokes, Sarah, rings true with me. I have never been asked out in the genuine sense of the word, but in my last school (I have just completed sixth form), I was 'asked out' many times by some younger girls (I was 19, they were probably 14). Since they were the type of girls who were likely to already have a string of boyfriends (and lost their virginity!!), I thought they must be playing a prank, so I declined. They weren't malicious or anything, its just I can know a joke coming when I see one.

My first response is usually that she's playing a trick on me, but I'm not sure how to vote that here.

That's news to me. :D

Anyway, unless I thought the girl asking me out was absolutely repulsive (and it takes a lot for me to think that), I'd at least give it one date. Plus, dammit, I'd be flattered!!

Very true for me! Actually, I'd be more flattered if a plain-looking girl did it, than if a hot girl did it. It's just much easier to believe that a plain-looking girl would be interested, so if she asked me out, I'd accept a date in a heartbeat. With a hot girl, I'd reject her outright, 'cause the odds of her actually liking me are too low to warrant taking the risk of humilation.
