Prince, you seem to be negative about something being the absolute truth. In the case of my post in the Love and Dating, you were coming across harsh in my opinion. I not calling you out but at be kinder in your words at least please.
Also personalities are also involved along with looks.

Contradiction , it's either this or that , pick one of the statements .

There's no shame in admitting ur true physical preferences btw.

hmmm ...so this is the problem . Look , the only way to solve that is a surgery to stop the secretion of hormones .

One thing that has affected me is emotional blunting. Like I get the feeling physically but can't exactly figure out what it is, it his hard to focus on and it goes. I had that in varying degrees, right now it has started to fade. Or otherwise you could be torn between two conflicting ideals.

You need hormones to live. If you didn't have them you would run into serious trouble.

there is no one true form of attraction. and i usually am not attracted to what most would consider "hot".... it's like saying i like to eat only one kind of food. quit trying to sterotype me and reveal some inner ugliness.

what i like about foreigners is speaking different languages. i once loved an argentinian man who took the time to speak with me in spanish/portugese/italian/ and i love the exchange... it's a comfort talking to someone who takes a real interest in what you're saying even on a nerdy aspies basic functional level.

and yea.. damn those hormones.

this type of accusation is being so overused lately :P

all guys like pretty girls ---> "Oh you are stereotyping!"
all cats says meow --> "stereotyper!"
all sedekas are cute --> "stereotyper!"

geez....

'inner ugliness'? didn't understand this part.

am not attracted case he just keeps asking point blank to make out.

im not sure what you're getting at by this statement.

i'd say he's hot by most standards but i would not have noticed him on the street. if that makes any sense... it's just not what i look for predominantly...which is why i dislike you trying to "put me down" by telling me all about the truth behind my attractions.

I am not trying to "put you down" by tellign you the truth behind all attractions (even if it's the truth) but I am trying to figure out why you lost all hope already in attracting this particular guy .

havent lost hope in trying to attract him......... it's obvious what he wants

i just cant make myself feel interested.

here's where you give me the obligatory, "girls only want jerks" shpeel... cause im still hung up over this other guy who doesnt love me... but leads me on.

i havent even been feeding it. .. other than having to work with him.

thinking about just leaving my phd program and getting a tech job. dunno if i can be around this obsession for some 5+ yrs (minimum length for research phd these days)...

or whether i can move on.

but i know it's not my nature to move on.... without doing so in a physical sense.

im just torn cause im interested in getting a degree for autism reseach (what im doing)... and i got into the program on someone's good graces... cause it DEFINETLY was not my qualifying scores... which is why i am ambivalent about leaving the program so easily.

im too stupid to get in anywhere else.

but i am feeling bipolar almost... mood swings change daily. im going insane and will probably just give up at somepoint.

starting to think i need prescribed drugs

Have you not been on any prescriptions before? If you're having major mood swings, I'd definitely suggest getting a referral to a psychiatrist. Some of your posts do seem disordered of late.

So he likes you and he wants you badly while you are so attracted to him yet you don't want him ..... I am lost now .

I won't drag this thread to this dilemma debate again ... so let it pass .

Are you nuts? Have some balls! You cannot give up your phd for this reason!

I understand that .

I can't judge since i have no idea about your current performance in your research but i think that you are putting yourself down and underrating yourself.

BS , most of these kinds of drugs are just 'drugs' ....I had a very bad experience with these anti-depressants craps, you can't live on them

I disagree. I often wonder what other people's experience of mental disorders is like, because I read a lot of posts from people that claim they can get along fine sans drugs. I've tried, and I can't. It's one thing to be a bit anxious or sad, but quite another to have intense dysphoria or sensory disturbances that make having a conversation or focusing on a task almost impossible. When people are so screwed up that they're contemplating suicide, the side effects of drugs are trivial in comparison. I often think that suicides are a way of impressing upon a disbelieving public just how bad the person really does feel, since mental disorders aren't visible or commonly understood.

It seems logical that the majority of people will never really need psychotropics. Most grief is short term, and most people don't get to the point that they'll lose their job because they're no longer able to do it. There are people, however, whose brains simply don't work well without them.
