why do you still talk to her??

Like I said, I generally don't. I DEFINITELY didn't after that email! I was just speechless. I didn't even feel like writing her to tell her how hateful that was of her to do. But that's how she is. But she can also be very sweet sometimes -- the difference is like night and day.

After we divorced, I didn't talk to her even once for two whole years. But I'm a very forgiving person, and I'll have an open dialogue with almost anyone while they're at least being somewhat genuinely communicative and not just plain abusive.

So, this also indicates my judgment in women. That's why I think singlehood is best for me -- because I just can't pick 'em right.
Edit: Well, to be fair to myself, I was only 21 when I married her, and I'm 28 now, so I've gained some wisdom during those years. I won't ignore the warning signs I ignored during that courtship.

Think about it: I saved myself for this woman! I was a virgin until we got married. That kind of sours one's perspective...

At least I'm not one of those people who keeps staying in abusive relationships, or keeps getting back into them after breaking up.
Some people just keep walking back into the bug-zapper over and over again -- like they just can't leave someone who's mistreating them. The best abusers act totally sweet to lure you back in, and that's what she does, once or twice per year.
I'm just thankful I know better than to be fooled by it!

Sounds like a Borderline. You should check out BPD Central; it's a site for people who've been in relationships with Borderlines.

Not saying that I know for sure your ex has BPD (I'm trying to get away from throwing out diagnoses everywhere I go  ), but it wouldn't hurt to check it out. It helped me alot to see other people who'd gone through the same crap.

Ya, I first thought she had BPD about six months ago, as soon as I learned what BPD was. I've read all about it, and that is how she acts.

That's why I started keeping a journal- so I could recognize the warning signs right away. It helped a lot.
You seem like you are a very nice person. (so, if the other guy is exactly like you, he must be as nice as you...how sad for him to get sucked into her evil vortex.)

i think i am BPD-ish, at any rate.

i'm fine by myself unless there's someone who's gotten my hopes up... then im miserably obsessed with them (whether i'm actually in a relationship with them or not)... and can't seem to extricate myself from the situation, no matter how bad they treat me.

I think BPD is too poorly defined to be of any use.

yea i mainly just know im obsessive over people... what they think of me... and WHY... i pretty much drop all my normal obsessions if im obsessing over someone... and generally, if im obsessing over them, it's cause im not with them and there's tension and i have double stress because of that and i cant seem to be interested in the things i normally do.

but this could be due to anything... hell... i dont even know if i have AS (i mean, i feel i know... but then i could just be plain old crazy)

Ya, I told her that. Remember from my other posts on WP that, although I am a very forgiving person, I'm also a very bold person. She said she was afraid to introduce him to her parents because he looked like me. So, I wrote her: "Have you informed the unlucky young man that he's already off to a bad start by resembling me? Tell him he has my deepest sympathies for what he's about to endure as your boyfriend."

Just youth. As you get older, this doesn't happen so much.

Do you think you could put her on "ignore" and block her from e-mailing you? She only seems to enjoy plaguing you so it would be no loss.
