Who lets them get away with stuff alot? Not other pretty girls, not ugly girls and surely not older women. . so who is it that lets them get away with stuff??

hummmm??

Isn't this the relationship board? I'm not talking about what other girls do to other girls, talking about the opposit sex. A good looking girl can get away with being clumsy to almost all guys, because, she's good looking and it's seen as cute.

For males, your seen as a total dork by most girls, or in my case, a brute.

A girl being a little clumsy can be attractive, so I can understand the attraction. As far as the rule with guys goes Inever really hide my socially akward traits, so in some cases i get the impression that if I have a clumsy moment it seems to add to my akward charms but I might be wrong.

nope, it's the Love and Dating board. If it were the relationship board it would be about other relationships too, like between a father and a son, or a teacher and a student, or the bus driver and the rider, or the POTUS and a citizen. All sorts of relationships, not just between a dater and a datee.

hey, I am sorry to hear that, GrantZilla. It is always a challenge to get over how you appear to others. I have a 14 inch and a 10 inch scar on my face from going through a guard rail when I jumped off my 10 speed (wow, gotta watch that depression, it will make you do self harming things!) so when I present myself to a guy I get to watch their eyes widen and their faces crumple as what they discover that what ever loveliness I might have had is shattered like a mirror by the criss crossing of the scars. I strive mightily to force my personality through the awkward silence so some inner beauty might shine out through the cracks (Like Shreck does, Shreck is a good role model for me) but not every guy wants to start with such a disappointment and they pass me by pretty quickly.

not sayin' that I would want someone that would be turned off that quickly by that sort of thing, but I wouldn't like to have to deal with it with every person I meet, either. Telling them or not telling them 'what happened' isnt so stressful as it is exasperating. Do people ask you why you are such a brute?

Merle

That is so funny you mention Shrek, because that's pretty much me lol

And no, nobody asks why I come off as a "brute." They just assume most likely I'm some muscle-monster that thinks I can push people around and crash into things lol

Sorry to hear about how your judged BTW, but scars are not anything to be ashamed about. It adds character.

Hi Shrek, Hi merle! :P

My dad has a scar in his forehead, from a car accident. To be honest I never pay attention to it (I only notice it when we travel and I'm extremely extremely bored, haha :P)

hi computerlove ( you sexxy thing!)

adds character is RIGHT. I call them my ' Heidelberg Scar"

*Germany's Heidelberg University is credited with starting a bizarre fad around the beginning of the twentieth century. Fencing was a popular sport with the students and their equipment was different from ours. Fighters wielded sharp, heavy blades and wore metal armor on their chests and arms. The neck was wrapped with a thick cotton rope to protect the carotid artery and the eyes and ears were guarded by a pair of mesh goggles. However, as you may have guessed by the title, fencing wasn't the fad.

Thick, ghastly facial scars were the obvious consequence of this scenario. Students weren't put off by the disfigurements - they loved them. Pupils would tear open their fresh wounds and rub red wine into them to make them more noticeable.

Medical staff would be on hand at each duel, called a "mensur," and were instructed to do a poor job of sewing them back up. This became so popular that facial scars became a trademark of German aristocracy.

Look back to propaganda posters from the first World War and you'll find plenty of German faces with a slice missing. If you want to see a great example of a Heidelburg dueling scar, try Googling SS officer Otto Skorzeny. However, don't try to make an association between facial scars and the Third Reich. Hitler banned the duels when he came to power.

As for application as a metaphor, comparing something to a Heidelberg dueling scar is tricky. The ugly scar represented both academic prestige and a higher social order. Although the mark is hideous in nature, the scar becomes a badge of honor when viewed by someone who understands its context.

I got a long scar when I shattered my elbow in football and they had to surgically put it back together.

I got a scar on my cheek as well.

Update:
Still haven't said a word to her :(

Today, OMG! She came into our office. Me, I was too busy with the computer, that I didn't notice when she came in, and I'm right next to the door! Haha.
Well, anyway, apparently she knows one of the guys, and was looking for a discount ticket or something like that. I didn't want to ask, to don't look very interested.

Sweetie, Computerlove, darlin' boy!

When people 'don't look too interested' people get the impression they are NOT interested. So, next time you do see her in the hall or what ever you have a wonderful opening conversation "so, I couldn't help noticing your quest for discount tickets! Did you get the deal you were looking for?" followed up (let HER say 'yes' or 'no' or maybe she will launch into the whole deal, but what EVER, you follow up with, "I can help you look! I have some great sites that sell discount tickets!" Even if you don't know a discount ticket site from your hat, FIND SOME and keep the convo going. Even if she gives you the ol' fish eye, at least you let her know that you
1) are aware of her presence in the world and
2) pay attention to her wants and needs (very important to a lady!)

The worst that can happen is she calls 9-11 to report some nice guy is trying to get her discount tickets in the work place!

good luck, sweetie, when she gets to know you like we do, how can she resist?!

Just heard some stuff about her, from a very trust-worthy source...

:(
I'll forget about her.

Go for it! Ask her out, it will take some courage but you won't regret. Then again I love clumsy girls so i'm a little biased.

I know some stuff, now from two different sources, and well, that's like a nail in the coffin.
It makes me think I don't want to start anything with her.
