You forgot hazel green in the poll. You can definitely see different shades of green whenever the light reflects off of them. I don't think I have a certain preference, but I think it's interesting how one's eyes can look one color and then appear another depending on the refraction of light.

why only three choices?

I like blue personally.

There are really only three different eye colors. I could have put hazel and black but hazel is really just a light brown and black is dark brown (when it comes to eyes).

I have hazel eyes, and they are not just a light brown. They are a mixture of many colors. Mine are brown, green, gold, and gray.

That's weird brown eyes has the least votes in this poll. I'm sure most everybody agrees they look best with a good tan out of the three eye colors.

Maybe blue/hazel is the color of the person who posted the message.

From the Repository of All Human Knowledge (wiki)

Quote:
Hazel eyes are due to a combination of a Rayleigh scattering and a moderate amount of melanin in the iris' anterior border layer. Hazel eyes often appear to shift in color from a light brown to a medium golden-green, and sometimes even a grayish shade. A number of studies using three-point scales have assigned "hazel" to be the medium-color between light blue and dark brown. This can sometimes produce a multicolored iris, i.e., an eye that is light brown near the pupil and charcoal or amber/dark green on the outer part of the iris (and vice versa) when observed in sunlight

Venger,

Thanks for the indirect compliment: dark hair, brown eyes and a tan to boot!

Dinks,

I agree. Black hair and blue eyes look amazing on the right person. Bob Woodruff for instance. He was a TV anchor for ABC.

Right now I prefer gray eyes. I had a thing for green eyes before that. But now I see that gray eyes are better. And blue, too. But it all has to do with the person's overall appearance and attractiveness. I have seen plenty of wastes of nice eyes and eye colors. Brown eyes do look the most natural and soft and honeyed, esp. the lighter colored ones.

Here's a great site I discovered:

Other than brown, most eye colors change. Mine are usually blue, but can be grey or green.

To me, eye-color is unimportant as long as it's not a washed-out blue. Eyes need to have naturally dark eyelashes and dark outlines that make them stand out. Most brown-eyed and hazel-eyed people have this naturally. Blue and green eyes sometimes have it, but blue-eyed people also have a tendency towards needing eyeliner and mascara for their eyes to stand out....thus the term "blue spanish eyes"...meaning those more unusual blue-eyed people whose eyes stand out naturally.
