Bravo Tim, you are finally starting to understand. NT, AS... it doesn't matter.

What I mean is, for example, I don't believe things like "they can attract guys simply by being female".

There are some female Aspies who have big difficulties attracting guys. And there are male Aspies who have the motivation to make the first move.

I figure looks, money, etc. are also determining factors. I would also guess that milder Aspies generally have better luck in this department than the more severe cases.

I don't believe that (about looks and money).

Based on what I've seen, I like the AS ones better. Social niceties and "charm" can go to hell. (It's kind of hard to be taken in by charm when you have an impairment in reading body language and understanding social situations...)

I would imagine that an NT would have more of the "charm" and social vibe that can penetrate your barrier and be felt even faintly than another Aspie would.

Your imaginings are not correct. I've met "charming" guys, and they do nothing but irritate me. NT body language does NOT penetrate my barrier, it comes across as just so much meaninglessness. I see "social vibes" about as well as I see ultraviolet light, they may as well not exist.
Why is it, that in so many cases, when you tell an AS guy that they are worth something, and even preferable to an NT guy, they refuse to believe you?

Because the world is full of empty "polite" talk, and AS'ers can't intuitively feel the difference between it and the real thing.

That is true.
I don't do empty "polite" talk. Even if I did, what would be the point of doing it here? If I don't want to tell someone what I really think about their question, I don't reply to the thread.

It all depends on what you're looking for in a partner.
Fact is, everyone has things that will attract them to this or that person and everyone has things that will repel them from others.

A persons preferences vary greatly.

A hypothetical situation: Roberta is a lesbian, would George have cause to feel bad if Roberta said she wasn't interested in a sexual relationship and just wanted to be friends? In this case, she wasn't attracted to to him, therefore there would be no basis for the start of a romantic entanglement.

Physical and/or mental attraction are the basis for romance as much as some would like to think otherwise

Women with AS probably have more and better education than AS men, are much more mature and tend to be less obese due to compulsive overeating than AS men.

I don't know about that. We become the civil and software engineers, and lots of women tend to become obese due to substituting food for love, or other compulsive behaviors.

There are many junior high dropouts among men with AS.

In Norway, or the 'States? How many junior high dropouts do we have here?

In Norway, special education is actually seen as harmful and as something that just labels kids. Aspie boys end up in a class with 30 kids that are 5-8 years before them in maturity and voila, you have a junior high drop out. In other countries you have private schools and special schools. There are barely any Aspies here who have a higher education.

There are lots of autistic college professors. Academic settings is are one of the places we congregate.

I feel like you tend to see the negative side of things. Sure, there's a higher drop out rate for a segment of the autistic population, but many of those go on to be self educated. There's also a higher academic success rate for a segment of the autistic population. We're brilliant at some things, and others, not so much.
