""Thanks, thats all really heplful
Good news, he replied, what a relief! I guess he's like what a couple of you guys have said, having to think about for a while before replying.""

Good luck - if he`s anything like me, give him some time in the start :)

You know what after recent developments I'm starting to think that it's more along the lines of what I'm looking for. I've found that NT people just don't even remotely get me no matter how I try to explain myself or my feelings.

huh? do you mean you want somone with AS? I think its understandable with people such as ourselves, saves a lot of agro trying to explain and be understood.

I think it is not wise to see him/her having AS as a criteria. An understanding NT (and trust me, those are there more than you think) can be just as sweet as another Aspie.

I want a girl who I feel emotionally connected to, that is my criterium, the soulmate feeling. If she has AS or not is not an issue to me. Both AS or NT is fine by me.

You know, set criteria based on character, common interests etc... Don't let a medical diagnosis narrow your options. If you date an NT, make sure it is an understanding one of course. But don't make Aspies only a criterium or you narrow your options drastically.

I met a girl over the internet and we talked online for 10 months. First only in text, and then months later in voice and web cam. Eventually we decided to meet up and see how things went. The intial meeting was slightly awkward but since we both knew the other person was socially awkward, it wasn't like there were any huge expectations, so things were pretty laid back and chill. After the first day in reality it was like we'd always known each other in person; a very relaxed close relationship. This summer we spent 4 months together that went alright for the most part.

After all my experiences I feel that online dating works well and is a great way for socially awkward people to meet and get to know one another. Our relationship never would have happened had we met in reality, as we're both to shy to approach people.
