sinsboldy, seriously. Come on. I don't advocate Mystery, Neil Strauss, or David DeAngelo. As a matter of a fact, I think they contribute to destroying men's chances with women than helping those chances out.

All of these, and what you suggest, are variants on the same theme... manipulation without affecting real change. I'm with Sins on this one.

being aloof and mysterious can work very well depending on the nature of the person who is acting as such.

for example, a 6'4" good looking rocker type guy with a Harley Davidson and tattoos that says few words, gives little implication as to his thoughts, and generally acts aloof and mysterious is probably going to generate a significant amount of interest.

however, another guy who is unremarkable and nobody really pays much attention to in the first place probably won't have as much success in acting aloof and myserious. lol

Yeah, it will work if you're already drawing lots of positive attention from girls. Otherwise, it will make you more invisible to girls, or make them hostile if they're expecting the princess treatment.

Typical. No sweat off my sack, though.

What have I been saying? Manipulation? Real change?

I have said, and you continue to ignore: Become.

If you conveniently ignore a member's posts and take other posts out of context, you probably are going to come up with something negative.

I've ignored nothing, so your retraction is accepted. In reading your words, you're creating artifices, artificial personality structures in a method of attraction. What makes you think that this sort of person is more appropriate for you than another who responds differently? How long do you except to maintain these facades? Adapting traits and working on yourself is one thing; what you suggest reads like a cheap suit in my eyes, not really doing anything for the person inside. I'll allow that a degree of detachment is a healthy part of any relationship; not that it is a basis for finding them. Take it personally if you wish, but you can knock off with the element of condescension. I've spoken about tending to one's self and cultivating it repeatedly here, and continue to speak when these schemes are posted. The invitation is extended to you - become something more than an actor and charlatan, and be yourself.

mak, I like you dude, but you're incredibly thick.

"How long can you keep up the facade?"

facade: An artificial or deceptive front

become: to come to be

Therefore, it's not a facade if you BECOME. When you've become Aloof/Oblivious, where is the facade to be had? Nowhere. You will be yourself.

Another thing to consider is that most (not all) Aspie guys don't need to "become" aloof and oblivious because they're already like that by nature. It's not an "act," and that's the problem... they really ARE oblivious to the subtle signals of interest that women give off. For all I know, I could have missed opportunities because of my AS.

Now that you're grown, have access to the internet, library, books, there is NO excuse whatsoever to be stuck in the rut of not being able to pick up signs of interest in the opposite sex.

You could very easily begin to study body language and non-verbal ques.

Maybe that was a good excuse/reason back in elementary school, Cyberman, but now it's just a lame crutch.

Also: I've met a lot of Aspies who are anything but what I would describe as aloof. They show emotions very openly. So it's certainly not too commonplace.

OK, go.

To seduce any desirable woman is something only one has achieved. But together we can find the secret.

I do not wish to become oblivious, or thick, as you say - to do so would be to create a facade. A degree of detachment is certainly appropriate, otherwise there is an element of dependency, but what you are describing is something that appears much more contrived than necessary. You're not going to attract everyone, and it might be something to consider who it is exactly you are trying to attract. Everyone is going to approach this different, so a didactic approach isn't going to be exactly universally helpful.

Poor form., taking words out of context; I have no interest in becoming this 'oblivious' character you describe. I am interesting in becoming more myself, more aware, and examining the idea you put forth.
