Well, this Aspie girl likes to talk. I love intellectual discussions. I usually dress for comfort, but will dress up on occasion. Rarely, I will use make up. I love men's flannel shirts, riding boots, and other soft fabrics. I feel sort of androgynous on the inside. I always get surprised to realize that a guy is flirting with me-I never pick up on it. I get attracted to nerd types more than NT. I am pretty independent, and get annoyed if people act entitled to my time.

I am very childlike and I don't drive a car...So for anyone who dates me, the experience is partially like having a younger daughter or sister....complete with tantrums.
Emotionally I was much younger than the one guy I dated who was 5 years younger than me.
I spend a lot of my down time alone...either wasting time on the internets or working independantly on art projects. I can get sort of frustrated and freaked out from working on projects with people that I don't initiate myself.

Um...I don't dislike physical contact...but it has to be a certain way. I strongly dislike unexpected physical contact, and there are parts of my body I will not allow to be touched.

Affection is a form of stimming for me. I can be very attentive sometimes and detached other times...I do NOT like the unexpected..

I sing a lot...and i have a good sense of humor...One needs to take my tantrums with a grain of salt.

Similar - bolded the bits I particularly relate to.

It's interesting to see that a number of other women also feel androgynous or somewhat masculine (at least in comparison to NT women). I've always felt that way, but assumed it was because I happen to also be a lesbian.

I'm also uncomfortable with eye contact, need a lot of "space", and don't like to dress up like a girly-girl (although I do wear makeup regularly). Jeans, T shirts, shorts, sweats and tennis shoes are my typical wardrobe.

I do enjoy physical affection, though - and am grateful to have a partner who can accept me for who I am and not feel threatened or clingly/needy when I have a need for a lot of independence.

My first husband was diagnosed Aspie. When we met, we had so much in common it was unbelievable. I had finally met someone who didn't think I was a nerd for watching old sci fi films, inventing new languages based on what would have happened if history had worked out differently, and who thought it was the funniest thing to mime Lord of the Rings at a Tolkien group, or to spend a day speaking nothing but iambic pentameter or haiku. (Do you know, even at Oxford, nobody cottoned onto the iambic pentamter thing? Even after a week? The game was to give it up when someone realised what we were doing... Yes, we were sad.)

Anyway... the point is, if you meet the right aspie woman, things will be fine. Sadly, though we had so much idiocy in common, we weren't in fact right for each other. Though we're still very close friends, we're also divorced. My ex is remarried, and very happy. She's a highly intelligent neurotypical.

You can be happy with either an aspie, or a neurotypical. But the point is... you have to love her.

That is perfectly possible you know.

*I'm really blunt. I don't wait for my partner to figure out what I need, I just tell him. It doesn't make sense to me to be any other way. I expect/ask for the same and it makes disagreements much easier to deal with.
*I don't like constant long and involved phone calls. Once every few weeks or so works for me. I much prefer emails because I can think about what I want to say and can pick it up/put it down when it suits me.
*I don't like someone in my space 24/7 so I'm not a person who crowds the other person. I respect his boundaries and I need him to respect mine.
*I'm a touchy feely person at times and I'm quite affectionate but not smothering.
*I try to learn about my partners interests even if I don't have the same level of enthusiasm for it as he does.
*I'm talkative and inquisitive but I also like comfortable silence where you can both be in the same room doing your own thing and you don't have to fill the silence with useless banter.

What I dress like....
*it varies with my mood. I do have my girlie moments.
*I like shoes and purses
*My preferred clothing is jeans and a tank top.
*I like to take care of myself though and I do like to look good but I'm not big on what's in fashion. I just wear what I feel good in.

I've been in three aspie relationships. One a nightmare, two a struggle, three made me feel whole.

Wow--you just described me! I guess we have more than just a similar sense of humor, Celtic Goddess! I lean towards girly, but I'm definitely not fashion-forward. I have to add, too, that I luuuurrrrvvvve a man with long hair. I was instantly attracted to my Aspie because of just that. It's not just that I find it sexy, but it indicates a guy who's not afraid to just be himself. That is sexy.

Ha. That's hilarious that we're so similar. 8)

I bolded that last line because it's soooo true!

That guy is not afraid of being himself too. Does that make him sexy to you?

It's so true - we wear body suits during the day so we don't get caught out. That's why we often wear slightly baggy masculine outfits; to hide the slightly loose way the body suit hangs off our green skin. ;)

You must be quite the popular raconteur.
