If you're on Windows, open up the image in Paint, press Ctrl+A, then go to Image -> Stretch/Skew in the menu bar.

I used to be loathed to send my picture out to people because i was worried it would crack their monitor or induce projectile vomiting. (Not fishing for compliments!! !!111oneone)

But recently i thought "stuff it" and i'm losing weight not, i'm about a stone lighter than that pic and hopefully this time next week i will have some new specs.

Plus i like to be the taker not the takee...um picture wise that is!

I've been using my pictures as avatars for years, though I'm no longer single. Never got a date from the practice, though I have drawn the occasional comment.

People should be aware that posting pictures here, even if not directly linked elsewhere, can lead a troll back to embarrassing info (dating profile?) through the use of image search tools. I hate to spoil the fun, but that can really suck if you're not expecting it and don't have a really thick skin.

In some cases the reason many don't put their picture up in a forum is because when it comes to issues outside of dating/love people are making their first impressions of us based on our photo rather than the depth of our words. I've seen it in many forums where a person is hardly pleasing on the eye, raises a valid point in a discussion topic only to have someone bring their looks into it for no reason whatsoever, especially when mixed genders are posting.

I've seen some people do it as well who were rather strong posters, had a photo that looked vulnerable, and a newb or two who didn't know them, without any legitimate beef, tried jumping them out of nowhere like they thought they smelled weakness. Another guy had a portrait that came off as rather cross/arrogant in the eyes and it seemed like people's reading comprehension of his posts got noticeably worse for the duration of time that he had it up.

Some are also on the down-low with respect to possibly being an aspie (or variant). It's bad enough that people might be able to map between my facebook account and linked-in page.

The only reason I don't like putting up a picture of the real me is because people I know will come and find me IRL or stalk me. I come on to WP to get away from all of that. (is-a-female)

Aye, that would probably be a great reason for me as well.

Fear of stalkers is one that is the best reason not to put up your photo.

Some people are comfortable with it, but many others aren't.

Myself? I don't like my pictures at all, so I prefer using an alternative avatar that defines any interests I have.

Single cat, I don't wanna be a single cat.

How should I crop this so my best features are highlighted?

please, single ladies, stop with all the PM's I can't handle it, My inbox is constantly full and I simply can't reply fast enough. I don't want to miss out on Ms Right

I changed my avatar and knew it was a big mistake. There just isn't enough of me to go around. so I will respectively ask that you ladies just send one PM per day please.

It took alot for me to bring myself to post my pic as my avatar. In hindsight I guess I was being a bit hopefull that some unbelievably wonderful woman would actually send a pm. Stupid me, all that anxiety that I overcame.
