But, you failed to read the thread title: To all Aspie men who are angry with women.

You are not one of those to whom this thread is directed. :P

Nah, I saw the thread title. T'was me just having a bit of play, is all. But not because I do not find the matter serious; but because strife of the "gender wars" and relationships in general cause a sharp pain inside of my head, when I consider all of the misery that abounds. I know the anger of which you speak; it is very real, and I see it coming from both sides of the fence, quite often; I name you noble for trying to assuage the strife; but I also name you quixotic, for 'tis a hopeless battle.

Here's to hopeless battles! <drinks from imaginary mead horn, once again.>

And who said I was human?

Not I; I simply toss the implication out there, and wait for people to react. You're the first to do so in a fashion of implied denial; intriguing. I see that calandale has also called you out on your denial; there's an interesting web here.

A friend recently said to me,
Quote:
...you are very human and complex and it shows right away.

This friend later overhead me saying,
Quote:
To this day I refuse to consider myself human; I generally find the species vile [Ironically, someone recently tried to complement me by saying they liked how "human" I was; it was an innocent comment, really meant as a compliment, but I very nearly flipped out on the person over this. :? ]

To which the response was,
Quote:
And sorry for calling you "human"! 8O It's funny, I made Calandale very upset with a similar comment, a while back.

To which I replied that I've already been planning on being calandale when I grow up. <puffs pipe.>

Here's to being trapped in a human's body! <raises imaginary draught of hemlock tea.>

[I identify a lot with Mordy, BTW.]

Good fortune,

- Icarus Only Implies, and Never Promises

Aridarr, I think another thing that's important to mention is the idea that just one person really could change someone's life for the better - its more than can be expected in most cases but its true. Particularly for the aspie guys who really do give it all they have to mend what they know of themselves doesn't work, the negatives that society had projected on them for so many years builds up so much residue that they're conscious willpower quite often, as strong as it may be, isn't going to be able to overcome the inertia on its own and they know that as guys - if you can't have what it takes your SOL. Especially when a guy's a deep thinker, has analyzed himself and analyzed his situation for ways out on levels that would boggle most peoples minds and regardless of whatever internal evolution he takes he still looks like crap to the outside word; its maddening because you really start to feel like you flat out don't have control.

Then again I think that's probably why so many of us tend to really get into it around here, it seems like a great many aspie women seem to struggle under the same yoke but in different ways and unfortunately its very difficult for anyone to really be that person who can lift another person out. I'd love to be able to do it for someone else, I'd love for someone to do that for me, but from the rut it seems like the overwhelming majority is stuck in there's just no way. The upside of this forum is that we can all get to know each other in ways to where we really could be in a position to really be there for each other, downside is from what I tend to see of the social norms here its a saddening few who actually go to great lengths to use it that way.

I agree, techno, and the real shame of this whole boys vs. girls routine is that it's such a red herring. As you say, aspies all suffer in relationships, just in different ways. The guys don't get enough, and the girls get too much of the wrong thing. Blaming each other for being male or female won't help; we should be supporting each other and trying to help each other find a way.

I'm hoping my 'for the poster above you' thread will help start the demilitarization of this folder. If people can hang up their combat boots for one just one thread even I think there's hope.

Icarus, I am quixotic and proud of it. :D

I admit, I get into these bizarre, manic moods; I decide that I have found the key to peace on earth and subsequently run around ranting at people on the subject of how wrong they all are. (All with the best of intentions.)

It is hopeless, but I find it quite cathartic.

Arrr, I can relate to that. Just think of jumping up and down, pointing at people and saying "Youre wrong! You’re wrong! You’re wrong! You’re wrong! And you’re wrong, You too are WRONG and you! You are WRONG! You’re all sooooo WRONG! I'm RIGHT and you’re WRONG!! !! !!"  :x :D

It's fun, try it.

Then I hereby induct you into the Grand Esoteric Order of Quixoticity, with the rank of High Priestess Maiden Major, and an immediate nomination for Patron Saint of Hopeless Battles. In times to come, your name shall become a battle cry for situations in which we know we are doomed, but still refuse to give an inch.

"Aridarr!" It has a good ring to it, I think...

You have found an excellent place to seek catharsis; or, at least, such has been my experience when I find myself in similar spirits. I wish you well in your quest.

Good fortune,

- Icarus "Quixotic" Falling (one of my 1000 middle names...)

I'm sure that was meant to be sarcastic, but I'll pretend it wasn't. :D

Fair Lady, that was absolutely not meant to be sarcastic. I may go about things in an overly fanciful and grandiose manner (as is my wont), but in this case, I was not playing in the least.

If you'd like to believe what I said, there is nothing to pretend here.

Good fortune,

- Icarus Meant What He Said

I'm angry with normal girls. Cheep Trash! (sorry, I hope I'm not sounding sexist. Trust me, I love girls. Just fitting into the discussion)
I say let us re-organize their brains and become a wild, weird one.

(Evil Laugh)
