Many, many male music artists, actors for example. They tend to have rabid groups of fans based on their looks and sensuality. However, IMO their sexual charm is far more effective on adolescent women and is wasted on many older women as opposed to female sex figures, who tend to retain their power well into adulthood.

Additionally, unlike male sexual power which tends to stay in a single context, a female's sexual power tends to encroach on other aspects of her life, such as in the workforce or the law. Which comes back to your earlier given example, where a woman may be able to achieve things outside of relationships and sex through sexual means. It's not great to have power like that though, because later if you're seen to be using your sexual power like that you can be discriminated for it - it's seen as an abuse of power. Similar to other forms of power (ie. monetary, political) abuse, such as insider trading in business. Plus sexual power tends to not have the worth of other types of power, unless you're the next Cleopatra, and she had other types of power at her disposal too.

That is why I'm staying out of this thread now.

I took offence to being publically called a "feminist b***h' and being called 'piece of crap'.

That is my main gripe.. not the 'sexism' but the very personal attack. I don't think not being called names is too much to expect. Yes I AGREE I was arguing but I did not cross that line and I NEVER called Snake a perv or anything else for that matter. He's been trying to tell me why I deserved to be treated that way, and so I've been constantly repeating myself [for the last three f# pages] as to why I disagreed with him which led to me being abused. Seems I've been made responsible for both behaviours, he now gets to call people anything he wants.. and the name calling has now been reduced to being called 'a bit of fun'. I am going to try leave this thread now as I'm not going to just 'ignore' it and I don't want to move back to our earlier arguments only to have them deteriorate the same way. That would be unproductive and would only cause people to continue to avoid this thread which is not what I want.

I'm sorry if I've made other uncomfortable and I again apologise to Anandamide for my part in it turning nasty. I hope it can be put back on track.

Heh, this is getting funny. I think I'll try and throw a monkey wrench in this argument by making the following claim.

I am a feminist. No, being female isn't a requirement. So ha!

And now to confuse things I'm just going to make up stuff on the spot right here.

Femism is the only thing that can purge the world of the disgusting creature that is known as man. I know because I am one. And woah is me, for I curse my own existance. I am waiting to have a sex change but the cursed oppresive male dominated society will not let me, for it does not understand what a horrible fate it is to be this way.

But with luck, we feminists will soon destroy all men, for with technology they will soon become unnecessary. Hooray!

Also, yes we are nazis. In addition to killing all the men, we want to free everyone from the tryanny of ... well pretty much every minority group around.

Including most of the people on these forums.
