6 packs are nice but I much prefer my keg.

Many of the women who say they do not like muscular guys are lying. I don't know how many women I have heard say that (usually total BS) and then the same women stare drooling at some buff guy with his shirt off (the athlete/toned type, usually 6-packed, not the Arnold-type). There are even few studies show that muscular guys are more likely to have sexual partners, something that makes sense for my observations.

Maybe many just don't like the sort of personality that usually accompanies that sort of physique but they like to look at it nevertheless.

I can honestly say I don't like 6 packs. I have dated quite a few professional and B grade professional sportsmen in my time. When I was younger I did give into peer expectations and dated people who were stereotypically attractive even though it wasn't my prefered body type. A sports promotions model dating a larger man attracks lots of attention. I am confident now in expressing what I personally prefer in regards to body type and I prefer large men. My current boyfriend is over 300 pounds and I love his sexy body.

it doesn't explain why women in heavy makeup get so much attention at a party (or in the media) for example. they aren't necessarily women that men would want to date, but they get attention.

Because makeup simply attracts attention. Just like flashy clothing does, or flashy paint or chromey bits on a car attract attention. It screams "GIVE ME ATTENTION" and most people oblige and give it. Also, wearing makeup in general would show that you are actively seeking someone, when women get married, they almost immediately tone down on the makeup, simply because they're no longer in dating mode, their husbands no longer need to see them in makeup, as their husband now sees them at their worst. That's why when people get married they get all old and fat and ugly, they're stuck with eachother and don't care anymore. All makeup does really is go give you a sign that says "Hey, hit on me!" But that, I believe is what it comes down to. "Taken" girls don't wear makeup, as they don't need to impress people in public, but girls looking for a mate still wear makeup to attract mates.

I guess that's my perspective as a guy, and the little observational capacity I as a guy have.

I've been told a lot more girls than one would think are like that.

fair enough, and it fits perfectly with the comparison to 6-pack abs.

I agree with his description. Sadly makeup is easier to show off than a 6pack
