I have very good insight too, it's just not many people have the intelligence to appreciate it

aaaayaayay ay now... no veiled insults, there... just because you're in the mood to fight, you don't need to call anyone who disagrees with you "stupid".

I wasn't insulting you, I was saying I resent the way forums are biased towards a particular type of dialogue. Heated debate is always frowned on and I think that's unfair as some of the most interesting stuff comes out when things get heated in my opinion

Otherwise it's people just trying to suck up to each other and being cliquey in a way that puts me off

People do not want intelligence on here, they seem to want some intangible quality I can't put a name to

Last I checked, parallel 275x5, ATG I did a backsquat 235x2, by ATG I mean butt like 6 inches off the ground, with a pause. ATG front squat, last I checked, 185x1. I've not lifted heavy much lately at all, because I got sick/stressed out. Now I'm concentrating on getting my snatch to 170lbs so I can beat my father's record in it. So far at a rather crappy 105 snatch. But yesterday I did 105 5 times, when I usually start missing it after 1 or 2, so that's a development. That and I've switched to split as I can't get low enough to do squat style. And split is more helpful for figure skating due to most jumps happening off one leg, which is the reason I started lifting in the first place, to improve in my figure skating.

Oh, I can sumo deadlift 355 last I checked. 195lb bodyweight, checked with an electric scale thing at 20% bodyfat 8 months or so ago, but I've added more muscle since then and stayed the same weight, so maybe it's 17-18 now. Being in that range bodyfat is lame, as you're just tethering between "fat" and "skinny." Or maybe the media has just convinced me I'm not cool unless I get visible abs.

Anyway, regarding Nessa, I just do not like the connotation that AS=nerd. One can be a "nerd" and not have AS, and one can have AS and not be a "nerd." It's something that throws people off about me, I "look" like I don't have AS, then people talk to me past 5 minutes and go "Wtf..." That, and it's the internet and nobody knows anything about anyone definitively on it really, so it's pointless to debate something as personal and subjective as individual's ASD diagnoses.

wtfid, that all said, eh, whatever...
whyd you whatever me lol...decent lifts btw.

This marks about a year of lifting, but I've not been serious in lifting since about May or so.

Don't get me wrong here, I can be somewhat of a dick and enjoy it at times too, but most of the time I try not to because I live by the philosophy that we should all treat each other how we wish to be treated. I only dish it out when I feel it's been called for. Even then, sometimes it's just not worth it to me. Not like the world's anywhere near perfect now, but it can only be a sh***y place if we never let things go and always treat each other like s**t, ya know? Even if it seems justified at the time, maybe there's a reason beyond his control that makes him act this way. Maybe he's been conditioned by his parents or other people around him. We honestly don't know who he is, even though he doesn't come off as very nice here. He may have just been unfortunate, and I'd rather try helping him, at least initially, than just bragging that I can get laid. In fact, scratch that, I will never brag about getting laid because it's not some big accomplishment to me.

I'm not saying his behavior is justified either. I'm just saying, maybe he's developed his attitude as a defensive shell; a way to keep people out so that they never get close enough to hurt him anymore because they have in the past. The only way to change that is to prove to him that the shell isn't required. Kill 'em with kindness, if you will.

A very good philosophy - one I try to use sometimes

I just get fed up of being overlooked when I post neutral/informative stuff - being more insulting at least gets a reply whereas my posts are often ignored otherwise

I can agree with that... there is a certain mindset that's "acceptable" and "not" - which is funny since this is the biggest thing Aspies are supposed to LACK!!

Any deviation from what most people seem to want is met with extreme hostility, especially from ringleaders for certain causes. There'll be a few champions for each cause... pro/anti-gay stuff, pro/anti-abortion, pro/anti-religion... some of them are very vocal and very nearly run the place.

It is what it is... life isn't fair to everyone and it never will be. Opinions are like a$$#01#$, everyone has 'em and they usually stink.

;)

You moan about being insulted but you like dishing it out don't you?

I dread to think what you'd be saying about your psychology clients behind their backs!
