When you arrive in London, take the Tube. DO NOT take cabs--they're probably close to $200 to Central London from Heathrow. The Tube is easily accessible from Heathrow.

In London, people naturally form queues (a word which only exists in a computer context in the US), rather than jockey for position. They are usually quite polite, though they leave newspapers on Tube seats (I don't mind that, by the way LOL). There's lots of green spaces, in London, even in Central London.

I thought queue-forming took place in most places. I think they leave newspapers on tube seats for other people to read. Regents Park is a very pretty green space, and there are great views from the top of Primrose Hill and from Greenwich Park.

As for taking the tube...yes...much better than taking one of their cabs. And it's cheaper to use an Oyster card now than buying tickets.

Many reasons, but the architechture .... I would love to see it. Especially the sewer systems designed by Bazalgette. If I were in London right now, I would want to explore the Victorian sewers. One of my special interests - lol- sewage. Also the British Museum. I'd like to see the Near Eastern artifacts collected in the 1800s.
And, we could hang out. 8)

I've never explored the sewers. It never occured to me for some reason. ;) There is a lamp powdered by methane from the sewers. Clicky.

Yeh, the British Museum is pretty good, and has lots of old books. And yeh, we could explore London together! 8) The nice parts, of course.

Of course we form "queues"--but they are called "lines" in the US. In New York City, we stand "on line"--other places, people stand "in line."

A queue, in the US, is primarily used within computer contexts.

Wish you all could have seen the storm yesterday, there was golf ball size hail, about five inches of rain in thirty mnts, and it blew down a huge beech tree in my field.I couldn't get to my mail box, water across the road.Today there were three road graters just on our road to fix the damage.

It was pretty exciting for awhile,I have a metal roof, the sound of the hail was intense.
Thank you for the concern. On the plus side,I won't have to water the garden for awhile.
The lightning even knocked the phone lines out for awhile.Didn't fry the modem, amazing.
We get these pop up storms regularly in the summer, the rain is great. The local economy depends on people floating the river, this is good for it.
Compared to the drought we had a few years back,I'll take the storms.Those I get,wildfires I don't.

I love storms, as long as I'm not walking out in one. Once lightning struck about a few feet away from me. That was amazing.

I've always wanted to see a tornado...from a distance. :)

^^The only way to see one :D Not fun up close, one hit our street Easter Sunday when I was a kid, knocked out the power and there was a Tarzan marathon on.Bummer,at least our house wasn't damaged but the one next door got thrashed,it was stuck full of pine trees like a pin cushion and other houses had no roofs, but the roofs were no where to be seen.Have no idea where they landed. We didn't have storm sirens at the time,so here really wasn't any warning, the sky just got really dark, there was a roar like a jet plane, and it was over as fast as it happened. No one was hurt thank goodness.

It happened so fast there really wasn't time to be afraid. They didn't really have good warnings back then,it was the early seventies. It wasn't a very big one, lucky for all of us.No one even had time to get in a bathroom or other safe place.Afterwards everyone sort of came outside at once and looked around stunned at the damage.I was nervous after that whenever it looked stormy, and had bad dreams about tornados.
