not a real thing. There is no scientific basis for the belief in soulmates. In fact, science would discredit the idea.

Come on Alex, I am as rational and non-religious as you can get but not everything can be scientifically measured and tested. That is probably why I struggled so much in the dating arena.

Science and logic do not have all the answers.

I had a soulmate. It can't be scientifically proven. I don't care, though. I had a soulmate.

I don't believe in souls, so I don't believe in soul mates. However, there certainly are people that we connect with far better than others. I believe that has more to do with things we have in common, sharing a similar sense of humor, and being able to converse well, along with many other factors... And those people are great to find.

I also feel the same about swearing. It's not bad, it's fun and often endearing.

I only swear if I'm mad or frustrated. It doesn't make me happy.

"Soulmates" is sort of a metaphorical term. It doesn't literally imply that people have souls.

I guess it's proper to speak of close friends whom you mesh with on all levels.

I tend to swear because it's just the way I talk. It could be good or bad. I never understood why some people find it okay to say poop but not s**t. It means the exact same thing. I am more mindful of my language in certain situations, but it feels more natural for me to swear.

I also tend to take everything literally. I know a lot of people find that annoying. :P

I often take things literally too.
Kraftie: "Science and logic do not have all the answers." Thank you. I'm kind of glad that someone sees things in a similar way to me.

Science doesn't have all the answer, but it can prove everything it knows.

Einstein was a bit of an esoteric. I don't know.
Another ship: Winnie the Pooh and Piglet.

^I think Einstein has many valid points in his quotations, but that's just me. I don't think he was esoteric at all.
What?! Seriously? *face-palm*

Gah, for Gaia's sake, Cockroach, you're barely older than me! Why are you giving up when you've barely begun your life?!

28ish now been looking since 16. I can tell you that it doesn't get any better. I'm waiting for that part of me that refuses to give up to die. People would always say you only 19,20,18,21 etc you shouldn't be giving up stil time to happen. Welp 10 years later from 18 and nope still alone. Life doesn't change much if your like most aspie guys if you've never had a gf by 18 you probably never will.

I only had my first date a year ago and now I have a gf. It may be unlikely, but not impossible.

Highly unlikely it feels. Unless the 18 olds can go to college and get a well paid job. If they do that their have increased odds. Otherwise doomed to live life unlovable in a world where a mans worth is entirely based on his income.
