Why don't you like short hair?

I recon guys have a stupid complex about long hair on women personally.

One could argue that all physical attraction is "stupid," as there's not much rationality behind it anyway. As such, I don't know why I prefer long hair, and not all guys do. And that's not to say that I can't find a short-haired woman attractive, nor does it mean that I find ALL long-haired women attractive.

Sorry I brought it up. I only meant it as a compliment to those who posted pictures... I was by no means trying to discourage women with shorter hair.

the funny part is that the guy thread was started after this thread

It's not all that surprising really, considering that the majority of aspies are supposed to be guys.

I think it has to do with the nature of this thread, and the other thread. And that guys are not as self-conscious as girls.

That's true. Probably the only reason this thread has flourished at all is partly due to the naivety of aspie girls, myself included.

I think its in part because of the nature of this thread and looking for the "Most Attractive Aspie Girl" and in some ways starting out serious and a little condescending. And then girls not wanting to appear conceited by posting their own images. vs. the other thread which started out as a joke to encourage people to post images to get a little boost in self-esteem and some fun.

It is not hard to see why that one picked up steam and this one has faltered.

Yeah, true. Strangely enough I'd actually forgotten how this thread started....

You know what though, I do take something back. There was a girl in one of my college classes I remember had to be on spectrum, too many ironic little signs pointing in that direction to be otherwise. I think if she didn't win my vote she'd at the very least be in close contest with the winner (lathe, elegant, dark-haired Ukranian).

That reminds me, where *are* the brunettes hiding?

I nominate this hottie as the best Aspie I've ever seen (so far):

look left....that's me.

how come more people don't use their own photos for avatars? obviously i understand that many people are concerned about privacy and safety, but i would think there would be more people who would find it more important when communicating with people (even online) to be able to put a face (a real face) to what is being communicated. am i wrong? i just find it hard to find images that i feel symbolically represent my personality or character better than my own face does.

EDIT:

@Starvingartist

One could argue that people will respond less or more based on looks alone in their post. I remember one member a while back who wasn't taken seriously.

I won't say who just to avoid embarassment but she had one guy who stalked her in threads and wouldn't stop commenting about how good she looked. Ironically it was the same guy that sent me some raunchy pics through his PMs.... :x

Hopefully he's no longer a member here.

Not that I'm saying all guys do that BTW. < <

But as for pics, I do think that people fear they'll be judged or discriminated against just by the way they look in a public forum on the internet.
