Sweetleaf,

Monogamous species in the wild are very few, like 5% of all species on this planet. - and birds aren't really biologically monogamous , they are however like many humans, socially monogamous:
in many bird species the females cheat on their mate in order to copulate with the alphaset male possible, and let another male to be the social father of the offspring.
Studies showed that most males caring for chicks are not actually their biological fathers.

we humans aren't much biologically monogamous - we don't have the biological characteristics of the monogamous species. For instance, the real monogamous species don't have sexual dysmorphia, meaning their males and females look alike and of the same size - while in humans males are larger and stronger than females in average (to less extent than other ultra-polygynous primates like gorillas).

this is a biological proof of a polygynous phase in our ancestry (one alpha male - many females). Also the long ability of female humans to orgasm several times is said to be due to polyandry practices in our ancestors (like the female chimps who sneakily f---- everyone when in heat behind the alpha's back).

But my point is....naah....we aren't entirely naturally monogamous species, we are socially monogamous. Some biologists would describe humans as serial monogamous, some researchers found out that serial monogamy was more ancient than thought.

Or get women to chose by smell. Women can actually predict attractiveness by scent alone it's really interesting. I do have sources if anyone is interested in further reading :)
I can picture that women's smelling men's here and there would get men aroused.

Maybe the norm should change from men asking women out, to women going up to men they're interested in and giving them a good sniff.

Wouldn't that be something?

I would be self-conscious if a woman stated sniffing me. I would think that I stink.

What if she sniffed you and just went 'yep ypur the one'

So basically what we have decided is we need stud farms where women choose by scent (jk)

LOL...that would be the ultimate in "cattle calling."

It's sort of what women feel like sometimes, from my experience.

There are very few places in the world where the ratio of men to women is more than 1.3:1.0. Not too many with 1.2:1.0, either.

That's a good point though. There isn't someone for everyone, because there's not enough 'someones'. And personally I think it's very depressing that a lot of people are single and may never find the significant other despite their efforts to do so. Love is a very fundamental need.

I don't know what these people are complaining about... Why, when I was a little sperm, only 1 in 100 Million got the egg.

^mmm.. yes....burgers made of men who were previously really undesirable yet women had to pick of them because of the monogamous marriage system.

Well, not anymore, soon they will be burgers.

If we wanted to improve the human race it would make sense to also get rid of undesirable genes in women also

Without men, women would have nothing constructive to b***h about and would eventually turn on each other leading to an ELE.

That would decrease the reproduction rate significantly.

Better is to genetically engineer the coming generations.
