Narcissism is the excessive interest in OR admiration of oneself and one's physical appearance.

One narcissist can falsely believe that he or she is the most attractive person ever born and worthy of everyone else's love and admiration, while another narcissist can falsely believe that he or she is the most repulsive ever born and worthy of everyone else's hatred and scorn.

There have been several members of this website who qualify for inclusion in the latter category.

IMHO, incels spawn from three of the following:

1. Teenaged boys who are vulnerable to nonsense on the internet.

2. Guys with untreated mental health problems (depression, anxiety, body dysmorphia, ect.).

3. Narcissists.

The first two groups are usually harmless. It's #3 that go on killing rampages. I think more attention needs to be paid to men's mental health, and support offered to guys who are struggling.

Narcissism means thinking too highly of oneself and/or having an overinflated self-esteem. So how is it narcissistic to HATE one's appearance, when the self-esteem is actually LOW? :?

Incels are, by definition, people who are Involuntarily Celibate.  Nothing more need be expressed or implied to define the term.

Some are involuntarily celibate because of their age and/or appearance; others because of their joblessness and/or poverty; still others because of their behavior and/or mental state; and many times, it is a combination of these factors.

When you have met once incel, you have met one incel.

But I think that we should think about if there is any common personality traits between them to see if that could be the cause of it though.

some things in life are doomed from the start and are not fixable. god may not specifically make "junk" but undeniably there are terminally flawed human beings being made by the gross, that society has not a clue as to what to do about them.

You are thinking of simps -men who are seen as too attentive and submissive to women, especially out of a failed hope of winning some entitled sexual attention or activity from them,

Well I guess the reason why I may take this incel situation differently is my brother is incel and he doesn't do anything to solve the problem. I tell him what to do in how to get women based on my own experiences, and how I use to be incel, and got out of it, but he never wants to do it, and doesn't want the end justify the means, or break a few eggs to make an omelette.

He has too much pride, or whatever it is, that he won't give anything a shot, but at the same time, he complains about not getting anyway, whilst trying to exercise too much pride on wanting to let the ends justify the means.
