I just HAVE to mention this one:........not an Aspie-Aspie pick-up line per se.

Girl to guy- Is that a telescope in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me?

"It actually is a telescope. I was just locating constellations."

And now a couple of my own:

"When I poke and prod and squeeze and you think I'm being mean, it's just because I like you. I just need an excuse to be close but lack the foresight to do so without pissing you off."
That's what I would say if I thought I might have a chance... But never mind.

"So, I've been studying phonetics, and I was just practicing some bilabials. Care to help me with quadralabials?"

"Which distro of Linux do you use?"

"Do you know an open WLAN in our vicinity where we can go online together?"

"You look to me like someone who uses XFCE, do you?"

Not a pick up line, but a gesture that did work: he used a handpuppet to hold my hand and shot me a slighly uncomfy look. Made sense to me.

Actually, that would perk my interest as well. Can't say why.

Not an Aspie pickup line:

"would you like to play army? I lie prone while you blow me up!"

Possible Aspie pickup line:

"are you the 101 to my 010?"

I have Nonfiction 1, Nonfiction 2, Nonfiction 3, and then one that's, like, whatever. Nonfiction 2 is organized by size and then by the type of nonfiction. Nonfiction 2 is mostly chemistry. And then Nonfiction 1 is biology and it's organized by weight. I used to have it organized by size, too, but that got boring. Nonfiction 3 is math and other stuff and it's organized by the smell and then by color. My favorite book has this amazing smell--you've gotta come over to my place and sniff it!

Wait a second...other people organize their books by smell? Holy hell we need to be friends.

I actually organized my books by genre, then alpha by author. But I arranged it specifically so each genre would fit on the shelf I had assigned it to. If there was overlap, I made the consecutive genres complement one another. I have a special section for antique and vintage books. When shopping for books, I try to buy all of the same edition (if they are a series, the Asimov's Foundation). My textbooks and other reference are closest to my desk, while science fiction and philosophy are near my bed. Comics have a special place on top, and I put my light-saber replica on its stand in front of them. I have two large pine and two medium-sized cedar bookcases, the latter of which I had to go out and buy when I finally got around to organizing the books properly, instead of just stacking them in piles all over my room. Having six hundred books laying around was quite shameful.

My favorite books are definitely the ones that smell the best, though. (To make this a pick-up line, I suppose I could add "...and my favorite people are the ones who smell the best, like you. Once I went out with a man because he smelled so delightful.")

Aoife wrote:
So how about that book I was telling you about; you wanna come smell it sometime?

I've asked this of people without ulterior motive. With flirtation between those with AS, you have to consider that we really might not get it.
