Why? Lemme see if I can sum it up:
My great aunt whom I am very close to, relapsed into her liver cancer again and they have to keep her on chemo just to keep her functioning. This is her fourth bout with cancer and she's a few weeks shy of being 64 years old. I'm very worried about her and I haven't seen her in over a year because they keep shuffling her to different hospitals.
College is becoming more difficult, as it is my senior year. I'm worried about obtaining an internship and passing my senior comprehensive exams. If I don't accomplish both, I don't graduate. Not to mention my workload is heavier than what I'm used to. I can manage it but it just takes a lot of focus. D:
My endeavors in online dating have been a complete waste of my time. I've been drinking a bit more because of it. I don't get trashed, just tipsy. It helps me ignore that I'm one of the few single women in my circle of friends. Not to mention booze is tasty. ^_^
Overall, I'm just stressed out. I know y'all are going to say, "you aren't in the right mental place for a relationship right now." I would agree, if I didn't see people waaay worse off than I am having better luck of it. I guess I'm just looking for evidence that I belong in the dating world. It would be nice to have a pleasant distraction from all of this but I'm not optimistic that anything will come of it. >.<
you know erisad, I dont want to be mean, but your situation is just like anyone else's life. You dont have it that bad, you actually HAVE a great aunt, most of us never met ours. s**t, I mean people die erisad. People get sick, and to be honest, you WILL, abosolutely WILL have to DEAL with that. it is life. As far as college goes, most if not all of us will have to do JUST THAT, when we are there too. Your life, is just like anyone elses here.
I most certainly not saying I have it better, or worse than you. It isnt worth weighing my life and problems against your own.
sure I like booze too, but dont drink because of that. ITS A NORMAL LIFE. dont start drinking because of it. I found that one out not to long ago myself.
also stop online dating, and start doing what you love, focus on your work and you will find a man. I can almost guarentee that. things that take too much time out of being alive, will take time out of love and your passion for things.
In conclusion, I'm sorry, you are a really nice girl in most other aspects, but please, you are in college, soon you wont be, and my only answer is DEAL WITH IT.
again, I dont mean to be mean, but i was as honest and blunt as I could be.
