There is always an irony when these things happen. The stories about Jesus, which vary as all recollections do, at least consistently tell of a man who had an epiphany at 30 and walked around for a few years talking and communing with people who were deemed as less than these by the Jewish temples (meaning they weren't allowed inside for one reason or another). He wasn't about money, possessions or judgement, in fact he was quite the opposite, and was reported as saying "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I mean whether you believe it's sin or just people doing wrong to each other, that part is true, we've all done things we knew were wrong and usually to each other which makes none of us in any position to judge. Basically, that in-your-face refusal to judge others and insistence on including them earned him an early death by the people who were being prejudiced. Now those are the stories actually told about him (albeit in different variations over time, but always keeping to that premise), so I am always baffled when I see someone who purports to be a Christian, or in a literal sense attempting to be Christ-like, judging others all the time. It just makes me think they might have missed the the meaning by focusing too closely on certain paragraphs of the plot.

I don't see why. There are some straight men who would say the same thing. I don't know whether I would be attracted to a transexual woman or not, I never have before. But I wouldn't completely rule it out, because it is possible that one day I would.
But again, you haven't completely ruled out straight men either, as you've said. So who really knows who you'll end up with?
what i dont get by these quotes.... is why you're suprised sopho would be in that sort of relationship....
yet you expect gay people to live in a sexless straight marriage and "choose" to live how god intended....
the situations seem kind of similar... making sopho's plight more noble since she's opting to be in the relationship for love... instead of tryng to avoid eternal damnation

Made the formal proposal Saturday. I'm half-Jewish, so I did the old Jewish custom where the hopeful suitor pours a glass of wine for the lady he wants to marry. She has about a minute to decide. If she drinks it, that means she's said yes. Otherwise, she'll simply leave the table, and that's a "no".
She drank.
