I'm a single male, with at least some culinary knowledge, but nonetheless still mediocre cooking skills. I get by alright i guess and my S.O. doesn't seem too afraid to eat one of my homemade monstrosities :). 18%  18%  [ 6 ]

I'm single male, and i actually AM a chef, professionally. I can cook circles around the rest of you and make something tasty with just about any ingredients you care to throw at me. My secret is my homemade "special" sauce ;). The S.O. loves it 0%  0%  [ 0 ]

He's very picky and seems to prefer food that's overpriced ,over packaged and has a cartoon character on the box.

I like baking cookies and stuff. I have about a 1:2 failure-to-success ratio as far as cooking.. which isn't so bad. I also have an anxiety-inducing propensity for setting oven mitts on fire..
8O

I've only done it three times

Once during the summer when I was a teenager I decided to deep fry something, so I put the pan with the grease in it to heat up on the stove. I turned it on high. Then I decided to do some sketching and lost track of time. I spent the rest of the day scrubbing soot off the kitchen ceiling.

I freeze and panic and I can't seem to remove the flaming oven mitt without someone there to "wake me up." 8O I very recently got my "stove privileges" back

I've been told any number of times that I'm a good cook, but these days the only person I have to cook for is my son. He's very picky and seems to prefer food that's overpriced ,over packaged and has a cartoon character on the box.

Maybe you could start weaning him off cartoon food by covering the cartoons on the boxes in a layer of duct tape. Get him used to eating the same poor quality food, only without being able to associate it with cartoons. Then start slowly introducing and tempting him with tasty non-cartoon brands of food .
& whatever you do, keep him away from Mcdonalds :chin: .

lol He's too smart for that.
Ehhh, well hopefully he'll just grow out of it then someday
