Long lonely read? Or did you mean road? Either way it doesn't sound good for me. :(

Erisad, bit of a heads up; if you don't want random PMs from guys, change your profile pic.

Something like a nice ugly dragon (and a stock WP image to boot), that keeps 'em away...

I didn't think that would be an issue when I first joined the site. I think they'd know that I'm a female aspie by now so I don't think it'll make a difference at this point. D:

I don't think getting compliments on your looks is the problem, but rather the guys pining over you. Changing your pic is useless.

Yeah. :/

Ya know, I was flattered by the compliments and it boosted the ego a bit at first but it got waaaaaaaay out of hand. Now it frightens me. D:

No, I'm sure the compliments are welcome. But eventually your thread will die down and your current onslaught of 'admirers' will dry up as they get the hint.

If you change your avatar, in future threads, people won't think of you as a 'girl' (unless you make another thread on the subject) and you will be largely left alone. I've been on WP for years and never been pestered/asked to date. A couple of friendly PMs, but that's all.

In my experience, people judge others by their avatars. For example, Ferdinand, I still keep thinking of you as a girl, sorry!

My suggestion Erisad would be to try changing your avatar pic for a bit and see if that stops any new admirers.

You always need to allow me a few minutes to catch my typos.

Okay, some of you remember me as the fat aspie girl desperate for attention from the opposite sex. You may not have thought that at all but that's my reflection on my past behavior. After receiving dozens of PMs and requests for sex, dating, marriage, or just to meet for coffee, I've just about had it. I'm overwhelmed. What gets me the most is that some of these guys live so far away from me that a steady relationship would be impossible to maintain. Some of these guys were all over me claiming to be the love of my life even when we've never met. Come on guys, I know a lot of you are lonely and all but don't place so much pressure on a lonely, mentally unstable girl. It could send her over the edge. D:

Telling a girl/woman you are madly in love with her or implying such a thing, without having taken the time to get to know her is creepy.

100% agreed. this post has my approval.

I feel bad for a good majority of the guys here. I mean, part of it isn't their fault...they weren't born with the looks or social skills or personality to attract most women...but on the other hand, they should have enough common sense to not hit on girls on message boards.

I just finished reading this entire thread and I find the whole thing a little creepy.

The whole thing? Is that including myself? I dun wanna be a creeper. D:
Having a crush is not creepy. Wanting to meet someone you have a crush on is romantic. Being a stalker because of a crush is creepy. Lots of online boys have a crush on Erisad.

Part of me feels that since this doesn't transfer over to real life, I figure that a lot of their feelings would die down if they actually saw me in person. My face looks the same but what you don't see in the pic is my fat body. I hope they all don't assume I'm a supermodel, because I'm not. If I were, I sure as hell wouldn't be looking for dates online. :/

In that case, why not change your pic so it does show your body? Then if you're right, the PMs will stop, problem solved. And if you're wrong, you'll still have the PMs to deal with, but at least you'll know people really find you attractive when it's not just your face. Seems like a win-win.

Are you trying to double the number of PMs she gets? :D

Or do you just want to see the pic? ;)

Erisad: Change your pic to one of Bob Sapp. That should scare them away.
