Though it is often the case, it's not always done to show off. If the couple are really into each other it just makes them both happy to be affectionate all the time. They tend to find it romantic.

Of course, that clearly wasn't the case with you, but I just thought I'd note that isn't always a case of plain showing off.

I think most of the time it's not done to show off.

I wasn't talking about PDAs. That's what I actually think. In other words, I don't think about the fact they are younger than me and bloomed earlier, as I stated in the second part of the post, because I just don't care. I've seen it for long enough now that I don't even think about it.
