Letting people down easily is a fundamental character issue. When people don't even try there is something wrong with them that will never be fixed.

Oh and I almost forgot... this doesn't really count as a rejection or breakup line because it was a while after I got dumped, but I got a "10 things I hate about you" list from my ex, except it evolved into 17 things, basically all saying that I was boring and creepy...

When I asked a friend if I could kiss her, one what was our third meeting, she cringed and said,
"Next time."

There was no next time, naturally. FTBTH

I've only received one rejection thus far and it went along the lines of: "I really like you, but I've been single for so long, I think I'd rather stay that way. Relationships are very difficult." It was sad because I think he meant it. Made me wonder if he was an Aspie.

That was SO unnecessary - anyone who would do that definitely has issues...

I'm glad I haven't had to suffer some of the rejections other people have had on here, I haven't had any really bad ones thankfully, usually I just get the cliched 'sorry I don't feel the same way line' which is fine because at least I know they're being truthful.

However one particular type of rejection line that does really annoy me is when people use ex's as an excuse for rejecting someone.

'oh but my ex did this, my ex did that, blah blah blah'.

If your not interested fair enough, just say so, but don't pass the buck and try use someones else's actions to try justify your own.

I had someone break up with me because I was "too smart". It wasn't hurtful or anything, I just felt kinda dumb for dating that guy in the first place after that

Well when she sent me that, I hadn't given up on trying to fix things. I kept asking her what i could do differently... so maybe she just violently reacted to get me to stop?

The best(sarcastic)/worst have been when I didn't even ask the girl in question out at all, I was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. It might be a situation where I perhaps almost bumped into them at a grocery store coming around the corner or at a coffee shop, smiled and said "Excuse me" and I got back RAAAAh (parrot quack - not literally but denoting their tone here) NOT MY TYPE. I try to imagine what would bring me to say that to a complete stranger of the opposite sex at random.... for the life of me I can't think of anything.

WTF?!?!

+1

abaisse, I hate to say it but - she might have saved your life, and now he's going to be her problem. I just hope for your sake that he's paying child support, a guy like that needless to say though doesn't need to be in their lives - ever - from this point forward, anyone with a chest could be a better role model than that guy.

She simply wasn't attracted to you. Not much else to it.

Who is that in your avatar pic anyway? Just curious.

People just randomly reject me without saying why. I'd rather be told why.
